Wyatt needed his own post for this one. At the beginning of the year, we found out that they were not going to be running the division Wyatt was supposed to move up to this year. I made the decision, against Wyatt’s and James preferences to move him up to an even higher class in jr blue plate. I told him I had full confidence in him that he could win in blue plate and boy did he prove me right. Yesterday he qualified p3 for the warm up race and got the pole for the pts race. He was really fast in the fist one, and pulled off a p2. Come race 2, he was dialed in, feeling good and drove an incredible race. He had to face repeated restarts, as the caution came out coming to the white flag multiple times. He didn’t let that stop him, he drove so well and pulled off his first jr blue plate WIN in only his 3rd weekend in this class!! I couldn’t be more proud of him stepping up to a new challenge and showing them what he is capable of.

Yesterday we went out to Woodleaf Raceway Park for race #2 of the COD series. Austin went for a lazy spin and got hit in practice, but it was all smooth sailing from there. He got both poles and took home both wins on the evening for Jr green plate. We got many compliments on how smooth and consistent he ran all day. We cannot say enough good things about the Hoosier treaded tires and how well they performed on a super fast track.

Yesterday we headed to Woodleaf Raceway park for race #1 of the COD series. It was good to be back at our home track.

Austin ran jr green and dominated the day. He sat pole for the warm up and pro race, led flag to flag in both races and took home both checkered flags.

Wyatt ran jr blue. This was another big step up in class for Wyatt and we are still working to get that new chassis dialed in for him. We qualified p3 & p4 in this class. We took some big swings at it before the features and Wyatt brought home p2 with the fastest lap of the race in the warm up race. In the pro race it took several laps for the kart to come in, but once it did he worked up to p2, but then pushed coming off 4 and dropped back to p4. We are excited about the speed we found throughout the day and look forward to big things ahead.

Wyatt also ran Jr champ. He absolutely loved the champ, sat on the pole and took home the checkered flags.

Big thanks to everyone working the track for running a great show and having races completed by 630. Nothing like leaving the track when it’s still light out.

Special thanks to our sponsors Key Builders, Jewels of the South, Atelier 238, life components investigations and Pauma Vista Vineyards.

Yesterday we headed to Coleridge Speedway for race #1 of the local points series and our first race of the year.

We were so impressed to see a solid 8 kart field in jr1. Austin qualified p2 for the warmup and p1 for the pts race. Come feature time, the first one was a wild one. Austin was competitive, racing for the lead, he got spun 3x (twice from the lead). He battled hard but they ended up calling the race early the last time he was spun. Come feature race 2, he set sail and never looked back. He led flag to flag, nailing each and every start and bringing home the win!

Wyatt had 4 races on the day. We never did figure out the right combo on the reaper tires, but in the treaded jr3 race, we finally had the kart rolling and he battled hard to bring home a p2 in his first ever jr3 race! In the jr champ, he led flag to flag, bringing home his first win of the season.

Austin also had the privilege of calling the first 10 races of the night on the PA at the track. I am so impressed with his confidence and racing knowledge and we received so many compliments on what a great job he did.

Special thanks to our sponsors who help us make this happen.
