🏆 STATE CHAMPIONS! 🏆

The Middleton Cardinals are the 2026 WIAA Division 1 Boys Golf State Champions!

These young men believed in themselves, trusted one another, and delivered when it mattered most. Over two days, they showed incredible resilience, composure, and determination to bring home the state championship trophy.

Individually:

🔹 Aaron Gepner – T48 (157)

State championships are never won by one player. They are earned through countless hours of practice, commitment to teammates, trust in the process, and a willingness to compete for something bigger than yourself.

So proud of this group and everything they have accomplished. They represented Middleton, their families, and our program with class all season long.

STATE DAY 1 IS IN THE BOOKS… AND WHAT A DAY IT WAS! 🔥⛳

The Middleton Cardinals put together a record-setting opening round at Day 1 of the WIAA Division 1 State Championship and head into tomorrow in 1st place at -9, holding an 18-shot lead over the field. Samuel Forslund leads the tournament at -6! Berrin Reiter sits in 5th with his personal best of -4.

This group has worked incredibly hard all season, but there’s still one more day and one more mission ahead. Time to stay focused, stay patient, and trust the work that got them here.

Proud of these young men and Coach Cabalka. One more round. One more opportunity. Believe!

STATE BOUND!

A score of 298 earned the Cardinals a tie for first and a trip to the WIAA State Tournament!

While we fell short in a playoff to a talented Waunakee team, our season continues, and we’re excited for the opportunity to compete for a state championship next week.

Regional Champions!

The Middleton boys golf team punched their ticket to sectionals with a great performance at Lake Windsor Country Club, winning the regional title with a team score of 292.

Leading the way was regional runner-up Reis von Ruden with an impressive two under par, 70.

Even more impressive — all five Middleton golfers finished in the top 10 individually with scores of 76 and under.

Proud of this group and the way they continue to compete for each other. One more step ahead.

Big Eight Conference Tournament Champs! 🏆

The Cardinals brought home the conference title today with a team score of 306 — 12 shots clear of the field! Proud of the way the guys competed from top to bottom all day long.

🏅 Top Four Finishes:
• Luke Weiss – 73 (1st)
• Samuel Forslund – 75 (2nd)
• Reis von Ruden – 77 (4th)

A pretty special moment for the Weiss family as Luke captured the individual conference title this spring after his twin sister, Sydney, won the girls Big Eight Conference Tournament this fall!

And on the JV side, the Cardinals battled Madison West to a tie, with Finley earning medalist honors by taking 1st place!
