The weight of the wild birds in one’s hand is heavy and true. Every pursuit of the wild bobwhite is an honor. Some would find it ironic, but as their habitat vanishes, the hunting community keeps these birds from blinking out of existence. We use restraint when pursuing them and try to create more habitat when and where possible. Each bird we take carries a burden, a privilege, that we feel deeply.
