Ranse Jones Beach Jam Ranse Jones Beach Jam is an annual volleyball tournament in Wilmington to raise money for a scholars The 2016 event is scheduled for June 25-26.

The Ranse Jones Beach Jam is an annual beach volleyball tournament held at Capt'n Bills Backyard Bar and Grill to raise money for the Ranse Jones Scholarship for Beach Volleyball at UNC Wilmington and for the Stroke Awareness Fund at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Ranse Jones was an avid volleyball player who suffered a brain aneurysm while playing a Young Guns AVP Professional Volleyball Tournament back in May 2010. Ranse unfortunately passed later that year in November and this event was begun to fund a scholarship in his name at his alma mater - UNC Wilmington. In 2015, the scholarship was fully endowed and we have brought the local hospital on to help us grow the event and continue to raise funds for the scholarship and for stroke awareness in the New Hanover area of NC. The event is a two-day tournament with A level M/W Doubles and B level Coed 4's Tournaments on Saturday and Juniors 2's and A-level Coed 4's on Sunday.
