The American Academy of Pediatrics has revised its recommendation and now encourages swim lessons starting at 1 year old. The key is quality. Ask yourself what would happen if your child fell into the water. If they have to be rescued, you are not enrolled in quality swim lessons.

Happy 4th!!! Hold your kiddos in the pool and put those life jackets in at non swim times around the pool deck, especially if it is busy!

In the water, we want our kids to want us. There is no need for special devices that give them a false sense of confidence in the water. They should build their skills and confidence by your side.

Water confidence and freedom are earned as skills are developed.

If your swim instructor tosses an unskilled child into the water, immediately stop lessons with them. We see significant numbers of kids with water trauma due to uneducated or careless swim instructors.
