We're happy to announce and welcome Lamar Ballard as our district's new head varsity girls’ basketball coach! 🏀

Ballard graduated from State College Area High School and earned bachelor’s degrees from Commonwealth University-Lock Haven in sports and recreation management and sociology.

He has coached basketball at Bucktail Jr./Sr. High School and been on staff with the Millionaire boys’ basketball program for the past five years. He has also been a Little League softball coach and manager for five years.

“I’m excited and honored to lead the girls’ basketball program at Williamsport into a new chapter," he said. "With over a decade of coaching experience and as a father to three daughters, I understand the importance of developing not just athletes but strong young women. Kevin Durant said it best, ‘Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.’ I’m ready to work alongside these athletes to reach their full potential.”

Lamar resides in Williamsport with his wife and three daughters.
