The boys played some great baseball all weekend, going 4-0 in pool play to earn the No. 1 seed, then winning their semifinal game before coming up short in the championship. It wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for to close out our 10U season, but it was still a great weekend of baseball and an even better trip with our Venom family in Myrtle Beach.
This tournament was bittersweet. We played some outstanding baseball, but it also marked the end of our 10U season and, unfortunately, the final tournament with Coach Connor and Tucker as part of our team.
We can’t thank Coach Connor enough for everything he’s invested in these boys over the years. He’s helped make them not only better ballplayers, but better young men as well. Tucker has always represented what it means to be a Venom ballplayer; tough, a great teammate, always bringing energy, and consistently putting in the hard work. The Maddens will always be a part of the Venom family, and they’ll always have a place with us.
Now it’s time for the boys to enjoy a well-deserved break, make some great summer memories, and recharge. Before long, it’ll be back to work as we begin preparing for the 11U season!
