Gail Peck .a.peck has been a group fitness instructor certified by AFAA for 40 years and a personal trainer for 25 years. This amazing teacher just crossed the 3 year mark with WISC Mind Body. Melissa has steadfastly adapted to many changes to include jumping online to teach during covid and then patiently rebuilding once back in the studio. Melissa is adored by her students who are amazed by her gentle Yin teacher demeanor which shifts into “beast mode” at the barre. We love you ! Happy 3 year anniversary!

Are you stressed? Anxious? Tired? We all feel these from time to time and we all find ways to soothe ourselves of these feelings often in ways that ultimately don’t benefit us; whether we turn to food, alcohol, or anything else that might take our minds off our discomfort temporarily.
However, there are also positive, productive actions we can take to calm the nervous system, remove physical and emotional tension and pain all while opening to freedom in the body and a greater self awareness.
There is a reason why yoga has been an honored practice for thousands of years and one of those reasons is that yoga is for everyone; regardless of age, size, or physical ability, this practice is for you. Just ask Irene, she began her practice at age 79 and over just a few years, has seen great improvements in her flexibility, balance, strength, and peace of mind. Irene gets younger everyday!
At Mind Body Studio, we have classes for all ages and abilities. You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or be able to balance. In addition to yoga, try our barre and rebounding classes! All are low-impact and very effective to meet your physical goals. Come try a class for free!

Want to get your kids up and moving? Mind Body Studio has a new yoga class for kids every Tuesdays from 4:30-5:15m that will do just that. Kids will develop balance, strength, flexibility, as well as skills like focus, concentration, and conscious breathing. Don’t miss our Holiday Flow and Restore class to cultivate our collective peace and goodwill. December 18th at 2:00 pm, join Jenny for this all levels class that will include gentle movements followed by supportive rest. We invite yogis to join us in the season of giving by bringing a non perishable food item to class to donate to House of Mercy. Stay after for a bit and enjoy some warm cider and holiday snacks.

Congrats Irene Marie Pastirik

Our 2021 Zen it to Win it Challenge winner is Irene Pastirik.
This amazing yogi came to us more than 3 years ago as a fairly new yogi. Today, she has a beautiful and consistent practice with us that is inspiring to all!

When asked how she won, her response was, “I just did what I always do.” She attends classes with us almost daily.

Fun facts about Irene:
She has 5 children
16 grandchildren and
10 great grandchildren
She has lived in Williamsburg for 41 years and in the same house!
Favorite yoga pose? “All of them”
(We got her to narrow it down to child’s pose.)

Congratulations Irene. We all love you at Mind Body Studio!
