Last but not least, the rest of bout 2 with both teams mooshed together evenly, and boy does that final score attest to the skills of the ones who did the mashing! Great bouts, awesome people involved as always, glad I was in the neighborhood to capture this for the gang.

This is the first half of the photos from the Mesa AZ bout June 25th. These young people are amazing, and it all starts with the incredible volunteer staff, without whom none of this would be possible. It was a great bout, loads of action. Enjoy these while I go put up the other half of this bout, and two albums for the second B/W mash up!

I am shredded to have to say how Sorry I Am for not having the team shots at the end. My lens swap had a funky one ina million glitch that I didn't catch, couldn't rescue the shots of your group fabulosity. So sad about that, y'all were so dang cute in the viewfinder!

After shooting an incredible Jr bout I had the pleasure of capturing my Orange County Roller Derby peeps battling it out with the Brawlin Betties from Santa Barbara's Mission City Roller Derby.

I love the visiting teams, and these folks were no exception. They had brought a spirit of fun, and to me that is what sport is all about. If everyone is having fun then everyone wins!

Part 2 is upcoming, yes there was that much amazing action in this bout too! If you missed it, it was one heck of a double header! And you didn't really miss it, its all right here in two delightful posts!

Call me crazy, its ok, everyone does, but I am just a sap for the jammers! These plucky buggers don the star panty and dive into a wall of bodies determined to keep them from progressing. Its nuts! And I admire the heck out of these skaters.

I can't recall the final score, but I do remember that it was higher in total than any sport I've ever witnessed! And I'm olde!! Cheers to these daring athletes, and please share these young folks far and wide!!!

As promised, here is the second part of the bout action between the Long Beach Jr. team and the AZ Jr. squad. So much action, if only I had half their energy!

Wow! When derby comes back it does so with gusto! I had the pleasure of capturing another double header, this time we started with the Long Beach Jr. team takin on the Arizona Roller Derby Jr. squad.

I have never seen such a high scoring bout, since the scoreboards are meant for hockey they only have 2 digits, we needed a resounding 3 for these young skaters!

This is the first of 3 albums, there were that many amazing shots to be had, stay tuned for part 2, and then the special "Just the Jammers" album to showcase these amazing young people daring to be their best against the pack.
