When I need to remember...
It's been a hard couple of weeks. I know many of my dear friends have had it harder. Not ever a comparison game. I am encouraged by the courage of some of the bravest people I know. Some of you don't always feel so brave. There are times I don't feel so brave either. But I know the source of all my strength and it is a never-ending promise.
A couple of weeks ago my daughter and I witnessed a heart breaking motorcycle accident as I was driving her to school. I know the accident changed many people's lives. I cried for a long time as I sat right here at this beach.
Meanwhile, a job I have enjoyed for the past few years is coming to an end. I am reminded that my identity and security are not in an employer. I have had several projects and passions over the past few years and am walking faithfully forward trusting that each step is divinely ordained and inspired. I know that the One who writes my story is an even better author than I can imagine.
Last week a hurtful post was spread about my husband who gives his heart and soul to being a good man and a good school principal. I saw so many words of encouragement and affirmation from people who truly know us and cared that we were covered by their grace.
Yesterday I turned 49-years old. I have spent a few days on this earth imaging what my life would become. I have had miraculous joys and overwhelming losses. I have been filled with fear, doubt, grief, anger, and confusion. I have also been filled with hope, love, peace, clarity, and joy. God knows it all and I am so thankful He is an even better author than I can imagine
