Let's be real... Some days are just less motivating to get out the door than others βοΈ
This goes for us and our kids!
As my kids got older... more and more they would ask to stay home on ski days. At first I wasn't sure how to handle it!
They were old enough to stay home on their own, I had always encouraged their autonomy and learning to manage risk means learning to listen to your body π€
However, I also felt skiing was good for them (and selfishly wanted them to come with π«Ά)
So I would ask them to take some time to themselves and check in with their physical and mental state:
Before I would ask, "are you really feeling like it's a no for you today or are you up for just three runs?"
Three runs sounds doable, three runs is measurable, three runs sets a boundary and gets us out the door
But, isn't it funny.. how three runs so often, magically, turns into so many more π
