Had a fantastic Women’s Self-Defense seminar this afternoon at NexJen BJJ in Versailles, KY!

Today also marked an important milestone for Renaissance Self-Defense as I officially certified Vincent Tabscott, who is a BJJ black belt and the owner of NexJen BJJ as a Senior Instructor and certified Mike Wells who is also a BJJ black belt and instructor and NexJen as a Full Instructor. I’ve had the privilege of knowing and training with these outstanding men since 2012. I highly recommend them to anyone in the Versailles, KY area who is looking for high-quality Brazilian Jiu-Jiu-Jitsu or practical self-defense training. You’ll be learning from instructors who genuinely care about helping others succeed.

I’m especially proud that these are the first Instructor certifications awarded under Renaissance Self-Defense. It’s an exciting milestone for the organization and one that represents the continued growth of our mission to empower others through practical self-defense education.

Thanks again Vince for hosting today’s seminar, I’m excited about the partnership and future opportunities to bring a piece of real-world self-defense to Versailles! 🤙

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate the birth of the greatest nation in the history of the world. The Fourth of July is more than fireworks, cookouts, and time with family—it’s a day to remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering belief in freedom that built this country.

We are incredibly blessed to live in the United States of America, and we should never take the liberties we enjoy for granted. Let’s honor those who fought for our independence, those who have defended our freedoms throughout history, and the men and women who continue to serve today.

Today our students spent the afternoon at NexJen Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu learning discipline, focus, confidence, and perseverance. We’re grateful for partners like NexJen who invest in our youth and help them build skills that extend far beyond the mat.
