🎉 LETTERS OF SUPPORT NEEDED FOR THE FUTURE OF WHEELER RECREATION 🎉

The City of Wheeler is applying for a Texas Parks & Wildlife - Small Community Grant to help improve Tom Britt Memorial Park — and WE NEED YOUR HELP! ❤️⚾🌳

Planned improvements include:
✅ ADA accessibility upgrades
✅ New playground equipment
✅ Bathroom/concession improvements
✅ Shade structures & seating
✅ Parking improvements
✅ Safer spaces for families & kids

Over the past few years, our community has already raised an incredible $150,000 locally toward this project 👏🏼 If awarded, those funds could be MATCHED for a total investment of approximately $300,000 into Wheeler recreation and quality of life!

NOW we need letters of support from our community to help strengthen the application.

⚾️ Hard to believe the season is already starting to wind down! Our T-Ball and Machine Pitch teams are wrapping up their seasons, while our older division is gearing up for the big tournament at the end of the month.

REMINDER - We are meeting at 9am at Tom Britt Memorial Park this Saturday to prep the fields and get it all ready for our Season. IF you can please bring any tools you think might help (gloves, shovels, w**d eaters, rakes/hoes, etc.). We appreciate you and shouldn't take long if we have the help!

🥎 We have (1) softball girls team for age 9-12 for Wheeler.

Ft. Elliott also has a girls team. We have had a few reach out wanting to know if they can play. IF you have a young lady that wants to play softball, please have them message us or contact Kristen Marion Moudy by 5pm THIS FRIDAY (March 13th). We would have to have enough girls for a team, so spread the word.. We also NEED pitcher(s) and coaches... Who's interested???

As we are quickly approaching our Hwy 83 Baseball deadline (THIS SATURDAY) we are needing COACHES and volunteers. Please search deep in your heart and consider taking time to COACH. We are needing coaches/asst. coaches for our 9-12 teams. IF you don't want to coach - we will need umpires and probably a few other voluntTOLD spots available...
