Girls high school wrestling continues to explode across the country. Participation reached a record 88,771 athletes during the 2025–26 season, a 19.9% increase in just one year, while 8,853 schools now sponsor the sport. Since 2021–22, participation has grown from 31,654 to 88,771, showing just how quickly girls wrestling has become one of the fastest-growing high school sports in America.

Look at all these Wisconsin Girls!

All heart from Team Wisconsin today!! These are the All-Americans punching their ticket to day three in women’s freestyle!

No single post can capture today’s action — five are through to the championship semifinals, and nine more are battling in the consolation semis. All 14 have already clinched All-American status.

Tomorrow’s morning session runs 10 a.m.–1 p.m., opening with semifinals and consolations before moving into placement matches. The Parade of All-Americans and Championship Finals have been moved up to 2 p.m.

🔥 Freestyle State Championship Results 🔥

Yesterday, two of our girls stepped onto the mat and competed for a Freestyle State title—and they showed incredible heart, determination, and grit.

🏆 Aubryn Konen – 12U 81 lbs
➡️ State Champion

🥉 Daylynn Schuh – 14U 80 lbs
➡️ 3rd Place

We are beyond proud of both of these athletes for representing our program so well and leaving everything on the mat. Your hard work continues to pay off!
