One of my favorite things about personal training is seeing the progress that happens when you slow down and build the right foundation👏.

I have a client who started with me at 9 weeks postpartum, and when we first began, even holding a tabletop position didn’t feel great in her body yet. So we didn’t jump into crunches or advanced core work. We started with breath.

We worked on reconnecting to her pelvic floor and deep core. We focused on foundational movement patterns and helping her feel strong and confident again. From there, we gradually layered in strength training💪, balance work, and more integrated movement.

This week we were working on single-leg stability and balance exercises, which was such a  full-circle moment because just a few weeks ago we were focused on simply creating connection and awareness.

And next week we’ll start incorporating more rotational movements and building even more strength through her core.

➡️And I wanted to share this as a reminder that ppostpartum recovery isn’t about rushing back to where you were before. It’s about building forward..bc when you take the time to create a strong foundation first, everything else gets so much easier!!

Here for you xoxo

PS, I’m opening a few spots for our Summer Strong series - an 8-week Maia Method personal training experience.. Send me a DM if interested, and I’d be happy to share more!

When was the last time you did something for yourself and thought...”wow, I needed that.”

Those might be my favorite four words to hear after class. And tbh, it’s usually not about the workout, it’s about finally doing something for YOU.

Moving your body.
Getting out of the house.
Connecting with other moms.
Laughing.
Breathing.
Feeling supported.

As moms, we’re so good at making sure everyone else’s needs are met that we often forget to ask ourselves a simple question, ‘what do I need right now?”

Maybe it’s a workout.
Maybe it’s a walk.
Maybe it’s coffee with a friend.
Maybe it’s 10 minutes alone in your car.

➡️Whatever it is, give yourself permission to make space for it this week, and lmk how much better it makes you feel 👏 xoxo

I’m doing things differently.

Lately, content creation has felt so generic. Whether it’s creating content, scrolling Instagram, writing, or reading Substacks... everything sounds the same.

And for the past few weeks, I’ve felt this pull to do things differently, but I couldn’t quite figure out what that meant.

Then the other day during a 1:1 personal training session, my client and I were talking about paying attention to the things that light you up (and doing more of them) and the things that drain you (and doing less).

And that’s when it hit me⚡️

Creating content has felt draining lately.. not because I don’t love it, not because the content isn’t valuable, but because the way I was creating it was no longer working for me (and honestly, maybe not for you either).

It would take forever to create a carousel. The ideas were mine, but I’d then run the copy through AI, paste it into slides, tweak a few things, and hit publish.

And something was missing… there wasn’t any emotional connection.

Nothing feels authentic anymore. Nothing feels genuine. Everything starts to sound like a version of everything else.

So I’m realizing it’s time to do things differently.

To show up fully, authentically, and as myself. Through my words, my voice, my stories, my experiences. And honestly, that can only happen by talking to you, not polishing every thought until it sounds like everyone else’s.

So stay tuned for more➡️ real updates, more conversations, more education, and more behind-the-scenes thoughts on women’s health, fitness, pelvic floor health, motherhood, and entrepreneurship.

Because building community, creating connection, and helping women build confidence through fitness is what lights me up🔥

And it’s time to do more of that.

So here’s your reminder, pay attention to what lights you up and what doesn’t. Then start shifting your time and energy toward the things that make you feel most like yourself.

➡️P.S. Lmk ..is it just me, or do you agree - everyone’s content lately has felt so blah, fake and generic🤨

It’s not about working out harder, pushing harder, or doing more, it’s about working out smarter, building stronger, and sometimes slowing down👏.

And honestly, I wish I could have told myself this in those early postpartum days. I used to think the answer was doing more - more workouts, more intensity, more effort.

What I eventually learned is that postpartum fitness isn’t about “bouncing back., it is about building forward.

Building a stronger foundation, learning how to work with your body instead of constantly trying to get it back to where it was before. And I hear the same thing from so many women (especially new moms)…

➡️”I’m doing all the ‘right’ things, but I’m not seeing results,” and if you’re reading this, chances are you can relate 🙄

So if you’re putting in the work but still feeling frustrated, maybe it’s not that you’re not working hard enough, maybe you’re just missing a few key pieces.

➡️Here are 5 things that could be holding you back:
▪️You’re not lifting heavy enough
▪️You’re pushing your body too hard, too soon, or not allowing enough recovery
▪️You’re skipping deep core and pelvic floor work
▪️You’re not using 360° breathing to support your movement
▪️You’re not being consistent

The women who see the best results usually aren’t doing the most, they are building on a strong foundation, staying consistent, and focusing on the things that matter most.

So consider this your reminder that you don’t need to do more 👌You might just need to slow down, focus on the fundamentals, do it messy, and trust that strength is being built one workout, one breath, and one small step at a time.

And if you’re feeling stuck and want help figuring out what’s missing, send me a DM! I’d love to help you create a plan that works for your body and the season of life you’re in, invite you to a class or chat about persona training options xoxo

Maybe the question isn’t, “Am I doing enough?” Maybe it’s, “What does enough look like for this season?”

So many of us get stuck in an all-or-nothing mindset (guilty 🤦‍♀️). We compare ourselves to women in completely different seasons of life and wonder why we feel like we’re falling behind.

But enough is going to look different depending on where you are right now.

Maybe you’re newly postpartum, maybe you’re running on little sleep, maybe you’re juggling work, kids, and everything in between, and maybe you’re still finding your footing in this season of motherhood.

But what if enough meant …
▪️doing half the workout?
▪️breaking it into 5-minute chunks?
▪️squeezing in a few exercises while your kids played beside you?

➡️Swipe through for a few of my favorite moves to try this week.

And don’t miss the last slide for an IG vs reality check 🤣Because enough isn’t perfect. It’s messy. It’s done with kids climbing on you. It’s showing up consistently, even when it doesn’t look the way you planned.

1 year ago today, we hosted our very first Maia Method Pop up class🥳

At the time, it was simply a summer pop-up series to test an idea for pelvic floor workout classes.

Looking back now, I’m blown away by how much can happen in a year👏

What started as a Google search for “pelvic floor workout classes” after having my second baby turned into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.

Maia Method was never just about the workout-it became a place for community, connection, support, and women showing up for themselves and each other.

This past year we:
▪️launched our summer pop-up series
▪️built our Medical Advisory Board
▪️officially launched Maia Method + our signature workout class
▪️created our BYO Baby classes
▪️certified our first instructor
▪️launched Personal Training and our Prenatal Series, ▪️started certifying another instructor .alexhirsh.dpt to bring Maia Method to Montclair.

And we’re truly just getting started😉

As a mompreneur, one of the things I’m most proud of is that my boys have gotten to grow alongside this business. Raising a family while building a dream business isn’t always easy, but somehow both grew together.

But more than any milestone, the greatest part of this past year has been the women 👏The women who show up week after week, trust me with this vision, bring their babies, bring their friends, and make this community what it is.

One year ago, I was simply hoping people would come try a class. Today, we’ve built something that feels so aligned, purposeful, and special.

So here’s your reminder to follow the idea, start before you feel ready, and test the thing you can’t stop thinking about - because you truly never know what can happen in a year.

Thank you to every person who has believed in me, believed in the method, and helped bring this vision to life. Forever grateful. 🤍
