An exciting month of racing came to an end with a finish of 13th place in the 33kart field. The team got hung out a bit with the rain out of qualifications and started in the 22nd spot. At the start of the race, the number 80 ASME K1 kart started to make the climb towards the front. After battling through two incidents, Andrew made it up to 7th place before his pit for fuel on lap 90 His ASME team did an awesome job providing fuel/lube in around 5.5 seconds! He came out of the pits in 10th place and worked his way back into ninth place until carburetor issues on lap 124.
Andrew was in the pits for about 25 laps while his team swapped out his carburetor with a new one. He then was able to return to full speed for the final six laps to get the 13th spot.
It was a fun month watching these kids work together and great to see the teamwork, dedication and hard earned results!
Thanks to all the friends and family who came out and cheered us on at the track and on livestream! 🏁🏎️💨💨🚂⬆️

Great start to the 2024 Purdue Grand Prix as Andrew moved up quickly from his eighth place starting position to a battle with the third and fourth place karts. Unfortunately, Andrew had contact passing a lapped kart on lap 37 and bent his axle ending his day. Great work done by all on Team ASME. Congratulations to winner Aiden Fox and teammate Luke Sanger, who brought his completely student built #79 kart home in 15th place! Andrew finished in 24th.

It was a great day of racing on Saturday at the Purdue Grand Prix Track. We got to see all four seasons of weather and an exciting race! After the snow and the rain, there was a race and Andrew and his ShreveHart team ended up on the podium! While they didn’t have the speed in the end to hang with the leaders, they showed great teamwork battling a failing clutch and a slightly bent axle during the race.
It was a long month of practice, long nights working on the kart, some failures and then they came together as the Grand Prix approached. Their hard work paid off.
Andrew #09 kart finished the 160-lap race in fifth place!
Congratulations, to winner Michael Cruz!
Thanks to all the fans who came out and supported Andrew and the team through the month! See you at next year’s Grand Prix!
