What Happened:
- Two suspects broke in through a kitchen window while Benjamin and his friend were inside.
- His friend was held at gunpoint in the living room while Benjamin, realizing what was happening, grabbed his gun and waited.
- The gunman entered his room, sparking a shootout. Benjamin was shot in the foot and back, while his girlfriend was hit in the back, with the bullet lodging in her chest.
- Surveillance footage later captured the injured suspect struggling to escape.
- Police arrested Phillip Price, who now faces 21 charges, including assault with intent to murder and armed robbery.
🔹 What We Can Learn:
- Firearm Choice & Recoil Control:** A firearm with lots of recoil plus being under stress, accuracy suffers. This is why training is critical.
- Handguns Aren’t Manstoppers: A rifle or shotgun could have ended the fight sooner. Handgun rounds don’t stop threats instantly.
- Magazine Capacity Matters: The bad guy had a **G***k with an extended mag**—this is why magazine restrictions hurt law-abiding citizens more than criminals.
- Positioning is Key: Trading shots in open space got Benjamin and his girlfriend hit. Knowing cover vs. concealment before a fight starts is crucial.
