Arrow spine is one of the most overlooked parts of your setup—and getting it wrong will affect everything from accuracy to broadhead flight.
✅ Too Weak (Underspined)
Your arrow flexes too much and becomes unstable.
→ Signs: erratic flight, broadheads hitting right (RH shooter), poor grouping
→ Fix: go to a stiffer spine, reduce point weight, or shorten your arrow
✅ Too Stiff (Overspined)
Your arrow doesn’t flex enough coming out of the bow.
→ Signs: inconsistent groups, broadheads hitting left (RH shooter)
→ Fix: go to a weaker spine, increase point weight, or lengthen your arrow
✅ Your Setup Changed
Draw weight, arrow length, or point weight all affect spine.
→ Fix: re-evaluate your arrow anytime you change your setup
✅ Broadheads Expose It
Field points might look fine, but broadheads will show the truth
→ Fix: tune until broadheads and field points hit together
🏹 Not All Arrows Are Built the Same
Consistency matters just as much as correct spine
→ Fix: shoot high-quality, consistent arrows, like Altra, built to tight tolerances
When your spine is correct, everything gets easier—tuning, grouping, and confidence.
