Since childhood I have always dreamed about flying which ranged from airplanes to helicopters and what held my interest the longest has been hot air balloons. I vaguely remember from when I was 7 or 8 years old is when I saw my first hot air balloon but it was way off in the distance. Then while in high school, I would drive down to Sturgis, SD on mothers day weekend to take photos of the hot air balloons at that festival which was located at Fort Meade. When I moved to Montana, I helped out with the Flathead Hot Air Balloon Festival and then eventually I met a couple of guys that opened up a balloon company in Whitefish. Through their friendship and company, I was connected with Rennaisance Balloon Company in Brighton, MI where I landed a job as a crew chief with a major corporate hot air balloon. I worked as crew chief for 5 summers traveling the USA and had a great time while learning a lot about balloons. For Christmas 2014, my wife gave me a book by a pilot that I knew "A Life In The Air" which I highly recommend. That re-sparked my interest in ballooning and had me searching the balloon websites for hot air balloons that were for sale. In April I saw one for sale which I was very interested in and found out that it was listed for sale by Bruce Comstock who authored "A Life In The Air". It all worked out and I became a hot air balloon owner in June of 2014 when I purchased "Back-to-the-Future" from Bruce. The journey resumed in 2015 with taking flight lessons for my private pilot’s LTA (Lighter Than Air) license. Please subscribe to my page if you want to be notified when I will by flying as I will gladly accept help and sometimes take my helpers (crew) for rides. Let's have some fun in the air! I'm happy to announce that on Monday, November 23, 2015 I received my private pilot's license for hot air balloon! Now the fun really begins as I can take family, friends, and crew up for flights!
