I want to give you some quick insight into why I’m so passionate about teaching proper technique to pitchers of all levels. In 1988, at the age of 23, I made the California Angels baseball team coming out of spring training. But unfortunately, that dream only lasted for a short period of time, before I was sent down never to return to the big leagues. The problem for me as I struggled with command
and consistency but more importantly, I didn’t know what to do about it. Looking back, I never had proper training (even with Major League coaching) and didn’t know or have a way to self-correct my mistakes. If I had these problems at the MLB level, can you imagine what kind of coaching our youth is getting? Not to mention if you teach a child 1 wrong thing, they can easily blow their arm out (I’ve seen it way too many times). So I vowed to help train pitchers properly and in a way where they could get instant feedback and self-correct their mistakes which not only resulted in better control and increased speed but also significantly decreased major injuries. My pitching experience extends through High School, College, A, AA, AAA, winter leagues, and Major League Baseball. I participated in four Major League Spring training camps while pitching for the California Angels, San Diego Padres, and Philadelphia Phillies organizations. Today as a professional pitching instructor I’ve successfully paved the way for many young pitchers in and around the Philadelphia area. I am proud to be endorsed by managers, coaches, and players at all levels including those in Major League Baseball as well as by doctors, parents, and students. Now through this website and modern technology, I am able to welcome a broader audience with which to share my expertise and training methods.
“Training a youngster in the art of pitching technique should always be centered on longevity and arm care. Anyone can teach hitting and not physically hurt someone, but that is not the case when it comes to pitching. EVERY TIME A PITCH IS DELIVERED THE THROWING ARM IS UNDER STRESS. How much stress the arm is subject to is the key to longevity and arm care. Inexperienced instructors and coaches lacking knowledge, of the proper pitching MOVEMENTS and SEQUENCING can cause much more harm than good. Understand that developing the proper pitching technique is a marathon and not a sprint, it takes time and is not achieved overnight, anyone with a different mindset is flat out dangerous”. I look forward to helping you or your child with their pitching. Sincerely,
Frank DiMichele
