Our family is coming together to ask for help for our 10-year-old nephew, Ben Beauregard, who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
If you know Ben, you know a sweet boy full of energy, determination, good humor, and heart. He is a local sports star who loves basketball, baseball, and football, spending every spare minute with a ball in his hand or watching games with his dad. At just 10 years old, he has already become a familiar and much-loved face in our community. Now, instead of thinking about his next game or practice, Ben and his family are preparing for a very different kind of fight.
Treatment begins this week, and the road ahead will be long. His parents are both deeply involved in our local school community—mom Stephanie is a teacher and dad Bill is the varsity girls' basketball coach at Quaboag Regional High School. They have devoted so much of themselves to supporting children and families in our community, and now their own family needs that same support. Ben also has an older brother and sister, Louis and Lacey, and this diagnosis has changed life for the entire family overnight.
As they travel back and forth for treatment in Boston, the financial challenges will quickly add up. We are raising funds to help with:
- Medical and treatment-related expenses
- Gas/travel costs to and from Boston
- Accommodations during treatment periods
- Food and meals for the family
- Other unexpected expenses that come with caring for a child undergoing cancer treatment
Multiple family members have serious food allergies and celiac disease, which makes shared meals or a traditional meal train difficult and, unfortunately, unsafe. Financial support will allow us to personally provide them with allergen-free meals during this overwhelming time.
We understand that not everyone is in a position to donate. Sharing this fundraiser, keeping Ben in your thoughts and prayers, sending encouragement, or simply helping spread the word means more than we can say. Our hope is to give Ben and his family one less thing to worry about while they focus on what matters most: getting him through treatment and back to being the active, happy kid we all know and love. Thank you for standing with Ben, his parents, brother, and sister, and our entire family during this incredibly difficult time. We are so grateful to live in such an amazing community, and for all of the support.
