Beat the Heat, Wenatchee Style

It's the height of summer, and there's nothing quite like a paddle or float down the river to cool off. Grab your board or tube, soak in that sunshine, and let the current carry you into the best part of your day. This is what summer's all about — and honestly, it's why .

Drop your favorite float in the comments — we want to know where you're cooling off this summer!

📸 Out on the water this weekend? Tag us in your adventures, we love seeing where you go!

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up to represent the outdoors locally! WenOut's Board President, Thom, was there to share the incredible work accomplished last year in partnership with the Forest Service and our amazing local volunteers.

Thank you Rep. Kim Schrier for taking the time to connect with our community.

Wenatchee Outdoors (WenOut) is seeking an Executive Director to lead our 501(c)3 nonprofit into its next chapter. As the trusted hub connecting the Greater Wenatchee Valley outdoor community, we are looking for a strategic leader with the energy and skills to inspire, guide, and protect our outdoor spaces.

Supporting the Future of the Enchantments

Last year, our incredible volunteers stepped up to care for the Enchantments. We are endlessly grateful for your dedication!

Following recent discussions with the U.S. Forest Service and community leaders, Wenatchee Outdoors has decided to pause our volunteer stewardship program this season.

Why the shift?
With visitation hitting up to 1,000 hikers a day, the strain on this landscape is immense. Protecting the Enchantments requires long-term, systemic management solutions rather than relying primarily on volunteer efforts.

What’s next?
Our commitment hasn't changed. We are shifting our focus to support collaborative efforts with the USFS and elected officials to advance a comprehensive long-term day-use management strategy that truly protects this extraordinary wilderness.

Doing Our Part
Healthy wilderness requires shared stewardship. Whether it’s your 1st visit or your 50th, the best way to help right now is to practice Leave No Trace and pack out everything you bring in.

Thank you to every volunteer, partner, and visitor. We look forward to sharing updates as these collaborative efforts move forward!

Ever wonder about the hidden history right in our backyard?

Before Mission Ridge, there was the Number Two Canyon ski hill! Generations ago, locals would gather in the canyon just outside Wenatchee to rope-tow up the slopes and ski the day away. Today, Nature has reclaimed most of it, but the memories and a few rusty remnants remain.

In our latest article, we dive into the fascinating history of this "lost" local ski hill, how it shaped our valley's outdoor community, and what it looks like today.

🚲 WenOut Kids: Thursday Recap! 🍃

Last Thursday was an absolute blast with our WenOut Kids crew! We kicked things off at Pybus Public Market before hitting the trails for a solid 45-minute ride.

The energy was high as we cruised over to Walla Walla Point Park, where the kids took a well-deserved break to burn off some extra steam on the playground. 🧗‍♂️✨

To wrap up the evening, we slowed things down back at the base. The kids tapped into their creative sides with some nature journaling, capturing the sights and sounds of our local environment. It’s amazing to see the world through their eyes! 📝🌸

Want to join the fun? See you THIS Thursday! Meet at Castlerock Trailhead.
