In their opening games on Sunday, the 8u Weddington wings achieved a 2-0 victory!!!

They defeated the South Charlotte Cardinals with a score of 6-3 and then went on to win against the Mara Hounds with a score of 9-7🔥

The team demonstrated exceptional defensive strength while accumulating a total of 30 hits over both games. GO WINGS! 🙌🏼

Congratulations to the 11U Weddington Gophers on a fantastic weekend.

They beat Mooresville 12-6 before knocking off Pineville 13-4.

The Gophers used six pitchers over the two games, and combined for 18 hits on offense.

Lead-off man Abel Houser got on base every plate appearance, while Drew Curry led the way with four hits. Cam Schmidt pounded a pair of doubles to the fence to drive in three runs. Every Gopher reached base and scored a run over the two games ! Defensively, second baseman Grayson Allen and pitcher Christian Lopez made some nice plays, while shortstop Ben Allen made a backhand stop deep in the hole with a strong throw to get an out.

The Gophers are 4-0 in their first foray into open bases on a bigger field. More importantly, it’s a great group of coachable kids that get along and love playing the game!!!

A great coach helps a child believe in themselves before they know how to believe in themselves. They build confidence, teach resilience, encourage teamwork and show kids what it means to keep going when things get hard 💪🏼

Yes, coaches help create better athletes.. but more importantly, they help create stronger, more confident young people!!

Every practice you lead, every high five you give, every word of encouragement after a tough play, it matters. Those are the moments our players will remember long after the season ends ❤️
