PLAYOFFS: ROUND ONE ✅

The Grizzlies opened the 2026 MVABL Playoffs with a pair of wins over the New Carlisle Yankees today, taking Game 1 15-0 and Game 2 24-1 to start the postseason 2-0 and move on to the next round.

The bats were working all day, with 29 hits and 39 runs between the two games. Logan Fisher led the way in Game 1, going 3-for-3 with a double, home run and 4 RBI while throwing three scoreless innings with six strikeouts. In Game 2, John Hoover drove in five with a triple and double, while Matt Hellebusch went 3-for-3 with two doubles. Dylan Bower was a perfect 5 for 5 on the day.

Credit to the New Carlisle Yankees for being a positive, upbeat group from start to finish and continuing to compete regardless of the score. And a tip of the cap to Gus, who put a charge into one for a big home run in Game 2.

We’re happy to start the playoffs 2-0 and advance, but we know there will be a tough opponent waiting for us in the next round.

On to Round Two. 🐻⚾

We’ve spent the week celebrating Grizzlies who rewrote the MVABL record books. For our final announcement, we’re highlighting something that may not officially be a record — but might be just as impressive.

🐻 DYLAN BOWER — THE NO K CLUB

69 plate appearances. ZERO strikeouts.

Not one. All season.

In a full season’s worth of plate appearances (minimum 60), Dylan Bower stepped into the box 69 times and never struck out once.

There may not be an official leaderboard for this one, but there doesn’t need to be — because the only number that matters is ZERO.

The No K Club is a pretty exclusive club, and Dylan earned his membership the hard way: putting the ball in play every single time he stepped to the plate.

69 PA. 0 K.

That’s an incredible accomplishment and a fitting way to close out our 2026 regular-season honors. 🐻⚾

As we continue announcing our 2026 Grizzlies record breakers, we return to… who else but Logan Fisher. 🐻🔥

We’ve already talked about what Logan did on the mound, but apparently dominating hitters wasn’t enough.

💣 10 HOME RUNS — T-4TH ALL TIME
Logan launched 10 balls over the fence this season, tying Jonmarc Lippincott of the Rangers (1998) for fourth-most in a single MVABL season. And yes — that came from a guy who spent most of his summer making life miserable for hitters from the mound.

💪 54 RBI — 2ND ALL TIME
Those home runs were only part of the damage. Logan drove in 54 runs, the second-highest single-season total in MVABL history, trailing only Todd Barhorst’s record of 62 for the Wolves in 2023.

158 strikeouts. 14 wins. 7 shutouts. And now 10 bombs and 54 RBI.

Pitcher? Hitter?
All of the above! Logan can do it all! 😤🐻⚾

🔥 Another Grizzly in the record books! 🔥

Today’s record breaker: Garrett Leicht

Garrett Leicht — 38 stolen bases (4th all time)

If Garrett got on base this season, opposing catchers knew what was coming — and usually couldn’t do much about it. 😂

Garrett led the MVABL with 38 stolen bases, good for the 4th-highest single-season total in league history. But his speed caused problems long before he ever took off for second. Put the ball on the ground and Garrett turned routine plays into a fire drill, forcing infielders to rush throws and putting pressure on defenses all season long.

38 bags. League leader. 4th all time. 💨

And for a little Grizzlies history — Garrett finished just one behind teammate Dylan Bower’s 39 in 2023, which currently sits 3rd all time.

Speed kills… and Garrett spent the entire season terrorizing the basepaths. 🐻⚾💨

Back to the record books — and back to the mound for another look at Logan Fisher’s incredible season. At this point, Logan is becoming a pretty familiar face in these record-breaking posts!

Today, we’re adding TWO more MVABL single-season records to the list:

🏆 14 WINS — 1st All-Time
Fourteen times Logan earned the win, helping lead the Grizzlies to a perfect regular season. His 14 wins set a new MVABL single-season record, passing longtime Wolves ace Jeff Sanders, who won 13 in 2024.

🔥 7 SHUTOUTS — 1st All-Time
Seven times this season, Logan took the mound and the opponent never crossed the plate. That’s also a new MVABL single-season record, again passing Jeff Sanders’ mark of six shutouts — a feat he impressively accomplished in both 2023 and 2024.

The wins record. The shutout record. And, as we already announced the strikeouts record, all adds up to quite a season on the bump!

The next of our record breakers — Jack McKenzie! ⚾

The reigning MVABL MVP finished the regular season hitting an incredible .660 — the highest single-season batting average in MVABL history!

The previous record of .655 (minimum of 50 at bats) was set by Jason Joyce of the Astros in 1999 and stood for 27 years. Jack finally takes the top spot, hitting damn near 2-for-3 all season long.

Another historic season from #21 🔥⚾️

Now that the regular season has officially come to a close, it’s time to recognize some of the incredible individual accomplishments from this historic season.

🔥 LOGAN FISHER — 158 STRIKEOUTS 🔥
🏆 NEW MVABL SINGLE-SEASON RECORD

158 punchouts in one season.

The previous MVABL record was 134, set by AJ Boshinski of the Thunder in 2013 — a mark that stood for 13 years.

Logan finished the season with 158 strikeouts, 24 more than the previous record, putting together one of the most impressive pitching seasons in league history.

An incredible accomplishment for #15. 🐻🔥⚾

🏆 PERFECT REGULAR SEASON: 22-0! 🏆

The Waynesville Grizzlies put an exclamation point on an incredible regular season today at Howell All-Star Field, sweeping all three games and officially finishing the regular season UNDEFEATED at 22-0! 🔥🐻⚾

GAME 1 | GRIZZLIES 13 – WILD BOARS 0

The Grizzlies wasted no time getting started as Logan Fisher launched a three-run homer in the first inning to put us on top for good.

The offense eventually blew the game wide open with a seven-run fourth inning, while Owen Walker was outstanding on the mound, throwing five shutout innings, allowing just three hits and striking out five.

A dominant 13-0 victory to start the day.

GAME 2 | UNFINISHED BUSINESS 😤

Next up was the completion of our previously tied game against the Mad River Machine — the only blemish on our record.

We resumed play in the 12th inning tied 5-5, with the Machine starting with a runner on second.

Then came one of the plays of the season.

With the potential go-ahead run trying to score on a weak ground ball back up the middle, Chris Mutter made a diving play and tag at home to save the run and keep the game tied! 🔥

The Grizzlies immediately made it count.

Garrett Leicht scored the winning run when Dylan Bower ripped a single into right field — WALK-OFF WIN! 💥🐻

MUTTER SAVED IT. BOWER ENDED IT.

And just like that, the tie was erased and the perfect season was still alive.

GAME 3 | GRIZZLIES 7 – MACHINE 2

The Machine jumped ahead 2-0 early, but the Grizzlies answered with a four-run third and never looked back.

Then Logan Fisher absolutely took over.

🔥 6 scoreless innings
🔥 3 hits allowed
🔥 13 strikeouts
🔥 Just 1 walk

The offense collected 11 hits, Dylan Bower and Johnny Adkins each had two, and for the second full game of the day, the Grizzlies defense didn’t commit a single error.

Three games.
Three wins.
One unforgettable day.

But more importantly…

22 GAMES. 22 WINS. ZERO LOSSES.

🐻 WAYNESVILLE GRIZZLIES — 22-0 🐻

A perfect regular season is officially in the books.

We enjoyed it today.

Tomorrow, the record goes back to 0-0.

🏆 NEXT UP: THE PLAYOFFS. 🏆

Sometimes baseball writes a script you couldn’t make up.

First, credit to the Springboro Mariners. They came out swinging, led from the first inning, built a 9-3 advantage, and were just one out away from a well-earned victory. Caleb Fugate and the Mariners put together an outstanding performance and had us on the ropes all afternoon.

But this Grizzlies team never quit.

Nathan Teller was outstanding in relief, throwing five scoreless innings to keep us within striking distance while our offense slowly chipped away.

Then came the bottom of the ninth.

Trailing 9-6 with the bases loaded, Jack McKenzie stepped to the plate and delivered one of the biggest moments in Grizzlies history—a walk-off grand slam to complete an incredible 10-9 comeback.

Jack finished a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBIs, Bryce Heller added a home run, and our team played error-free baseball while battling until the very last out.

Nothing but respect for the Mariners—they played a tremendous game. Today just happened to end with a little Grizzlies magic.

👑 STRIKEOUT KING.

Congratulations to Logan Fisher on making MVABL history by setting the new Miami Valley Adult Baseball League single-season regular season strikeout record.

With another dominant performance on the mound, Logan surpassed the previous record held by former Slammers ace Jeff Beall, etching his name into league history. Breaking a record of this caliber is a testament to the countless hours of hard work, dedication, and relentless competitiveness he brings every time he takes the ball.

From everyone with the Waynesville Grizzlies, congratulations on an incredible accomplishment. We’re proud to have witnessed history and can’t wait to see what comes next.

🐻⚾ Congratulations, Logan! GrizzliesBaseball
