🔥 PRO STOCK LATE MODEL
Started the heat 2nd and finished 2nd, but the car wasn't where I wanted it.
After talking with some racers, we made some big changes:
✔️ Gear change
✔️ Spark plug adjustment
✔️ Carb tuning
✔️ Complete rescale and setup check
Huge thanks to Mike Walker and Matt Carrington for helping get Elsa dialed in before the feature.
Then came the A-Main...
Started 5th.
By lap 10...
🚨 ELSA WAS LEADING THE RACE. 🚨
The car was absolutely on rails.
Then everything changed.
A big stack-up happened behind me and I believed I had put a lap on most of the field. I saw a car behind me that I thought was a lap down, so I played it smart and let him go thinking I had the race under control.
Yellow comes out.
The lineup is called...
And somehow...
I wasn't the leader.
According to race control, I restarted 2nd.
I immediately told them I believed I was leading, but with no scoring system to verify it, they had to go off driver input.
So instead of restarting from the lead...
I restarted 2nd.
And finished...
🥈 2ND PLACE.
Was it my first win?
Officially, no.
Do I believe we had the car to win?
Absolutely.
The positive?
Elsa was FAST.
The BEST she's ever felt.
And if that's how we're starting the season...
We're going to be dangerous.

🔥 SUPER LATE MODEL
Heat:
Started 4th / Finished 5th
B-Main:
Started 3rd / Finished 2nd
🚨 FIRST EVER SUPER LATE MODEL A-MAIN TRANSFER! 🚨
Feature:
Started 8th / Finished 7th
Drove all the way to 4th by lap 6 before a couple mistakes and cautions shuffled me back.
Still learning this class, but making my first Super A-Main felt like a win by itself.

🔥 OPEN MODIFIED
Heat:
Started 3rd / Finished 3rd
B-Main:
Started 1st / Finished 2nd
This race was WILD.
I drove from 3rd to the lead after shooting a gap nobody expected.
Then I noticed something wasn't right with the car.
Turns out...
💥 BROKEN LEFT REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM.
I nursed it home in 2nd and transferred to the A-Main.
Huge thanks again to Mike Walker for helping get it fixed before the feature, and John Kelly for the spur gear plate that solved a binding issue.
Feature:
Started 8th / Finished 7th
This was my first race with the Loudermilk Racing Engines monster motor in Stitches.
And let me tell you...
This thing is a different animal.
I'm still learning what it wants and doesn't want, but every lap is making me better.
The good news?
The car is the best it's been in a LONG time.
