Continuing our state championship race recap… Let's celebrate our middle school athletes! 🚵‍♀️

We got to watch 16 of our middle schoolers hit the trails at the Red Barn State Championship and they gave us plenty to cheer about!

These riders showed up ready to race, pushing themselves, supporting their teammates, and finishing the season strong!

🥉 A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PODIUM FINISHERS!
Cole Zemke – 3rd Place, MS2 Boys
Danica Larson – 3rd Place, MS2 Girls
Lena Zielinski – 6th Place, MS2 Girls
Raelyn Borchardt – 8th Place, MS2 Girls

🔥 And how about those MS2 girls?! FOUR athletes in the TOP 10! What an incredible showing!

We're so proud of all of our middle school riders and the hard work, determination, and team spirit they've brought to this season. The future of our team is looking bright!

From middle school to high school, our riders showed up, put in the work, and made this season one to remember!

There’s something so cool about seeing those flickering lights winding through the trees, but it also brings a little sadness knowing another season is coming to an end. 🥹

Our athletes have SO much to be proud of after the past four months! The miles, the challenges overcome, the progress made, and the friendships built have made this season one to celebrate. 💙❤️

We’re not quite done yet! We still have the State Championship Race this weekend, Monday’s costume ride, and our end-of-season party to look forward to!

Good luck to everyone racing at Trek Trails!🐄 Ride strong, soak it all in, and enjoy every moment! 🚵‍♀️🚵‍♂️

🎓🥳Help us celebrate our seniors, Chase and Logan, as they get ready to take on the State Championship course next weekend!🚵‍♂️

Chase has been part of Wausau United Ride since 7th grade, and Logan joined us as a Freshman. We’ve had the privilege of watching them grow as riders, teammates, and young men. From their very first NICA races to their senior season, it’s amazing to look back and see just how far they’ve come. 😢

Chase and Logan, thank you for all the time, effort, and energy you’ve given to this team. We’re proud of everything you’ve accomplished and grateful to have been part of your journey. Let’s make this final race as Wausau United Ride athletes one to remember! ❤️💙

The Gnarly Nordic race marked the end of the North Conference series for our high school athletes! We wrapped up the series on the most challenging course yet, with 386 feet of climbing per lap on the standard course and 474 feet per lap on the JVIII/Varsity course. These athletes rose to the challenge and rode strong! 💪🚵

Race & Conference Highlights:
🥈 Pierce Wolf finished 2nd at the race and 2nd overall in the Conference series in the Freshman category!

🏁 Wausau West finished 8th in the Conference standings.

🏁 DC Everest finished 10th in the Conference standings.

Unfortunately, Wausau East and Wausau Composite didn’t have enough athletes to be competitive, but their athletes still showed up, put in the work, and raced hard!

Overall, it’s been an excellent racing season, and we’re looking forward to wrapping it up at the State Championship on October 24–25! 🎉🚵

We wrapped up the North Conference season this weekend with Gnarly Nordic! This was a challenging course with lots of climbing, technical areas and a slow grassy area right at the finish. Our athletes rode hard and have a lot to be proud of this season! Here’s a few snapshots of our Middle School athletes from this weekend's race that were captured by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League league volunteer photographers!

Next up our State Championship at Trek Trails in Waterloo, WI!!🐄🚲🏅

Last week, we recognized Parker Alters with our Athlete Recognition Award for Attitude!

Parker is always smiling and bringing a positive attitude to practice! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been mixing things up with some new ride groups, and Parker has embraced the changes with enthusiasm. His willingness to challenge himself and his consistently upbeat demeanor make him a joy to have on the team. 🚵‍♂️

Congratulations, Parker! Keep smiling, challenging yourself, and sharing that positive energy with everyone around you! 🙌

With the sun setting early at practice, we had to capture Parker’s award photo at yesterday’s Nordic Mountain race instead! 📸
