What is Ultimate Flag football?

We've received this question several times. Here are the main differences between traditional flag and ultimate flag. Check out our 2025 Ultimate Flag highlight video to see how things looked!

- Players are in full pads and helmet and learning contact without tackling. Pulling a flag ends the play instead of taking the opponent to the ground

- Blocking is emphasized and an important part of the game and player development

- Teams run actual plays within rules that closely mirror tackle football. This places a premium on teamwork and coordination.

In short, this is a great bridge option to learning how to safely and successfully play football!
