We made it back to Chicagoland after an amazing winter, in Key Largo. It was a looooong one this year. We parked it on the 27th of October, and stayed until April 24th. We would love to say that we avoided the cold this way, but that would be a blatant lie! (We saw snow on Friday.)
Anyhoooo... I'm going to drop a whole bunch of pictures from the winter, early spring and late fall too. I imagine if I posted the same sunsets every night, it might get tedious. So here they are, sprinkled throughout. We watched the sunset over the Everglades, almost every evening for almost six months. We hung out on the dock, and at our little beach a lot. We spent days in the sun, out on the water with our friends. We literally put roots down. (See Fred's lawn!!!)
The people from this small town are as infectious as this paradise itself. We embraced them just as hard as they embraced us back. It is our chosen home now. We're dug in. We're convinced that there's no better place to watch the weather play it's evil winter games. We learned, years ago that the sea fixes everything. This winter threw us some terrible curve balls. I took it all to the end of the dock, and shouted at God until I lost my voice and then, I listened. ❤️ There is nothing better, for my soul. It's our favorite place, for these reasons, and for so much more.
KL, we miss you already.
