🏀 3️⃣4️⃣ LEO JANSEN 🏀

Leo began his Wauconda Jr. Bulldog journey as a 4th grader.  As one of the longest playing members on the team, Leo has grown to become an athlete that his teammates can rely on.  A true student of the game, Leo knows the playbook like the back of his hand.  He sets hard screens to free up teammates, battles for rebounds, and isn’t afraid to finish strong in the paint. Whether he’s on the court or cheering from the bench, Leo is always communicating and encouraging others. His commitment to being a great teammate shines through in the way he supports his teammates, keeps everyone organized, and consistently puts the team first.

Leo describes his time as a Jr. Bulldog as AWESOME!  One of his favorite memories was in 6th grade when his team won the Richmond tournament. The team battled through the weekend, going 5-0, finishing with a strong win against Wilmot.  It was an exciting weekend!  Leo will miss the friendships built over the years but hopes to carry them into high school. He believes his time as a Jr. Bulldog has helped him become a better athlete and person. His advice to younger players says it all: “There are going to be difficult practices and games, but the effort you put in will show. Most importantly, don’t overthink it — just go out and have fun!”

Leo will attend Wauconda High School next year, where he plans to continue playing basketball!  He also plans to join the Baseball and Fishing teams.  Good luck next year, Leo — Jr. Bulldogs will be cheering for you!

🏀 3️⃣4️⃣ BRAYDEN NICOLAY 🏀

Brayden joined the Jr. Bulldogs this year and has already shown tremendous growth since becoming part of the team. An imposing presence in the paint, he’s not someone opponents enjoy battling against. Brayden puts in the work at practice and carries it into games, using his height and strength to his advantage. On offense, can be counted on to set screens, clearing the way for his teammates to score.

Brayden describes his time as a Jr. Bulldog as A FUN LEARNING EXPERIENCE. His favorite memory from the season was meeting new people and being pushed to do his best.  Brayden is going to miss his coaches and the connections he made with his teammates, since he will be going to a different school next year. His advice to younger players is simple: “Do your best and don’t give up.”  He follows this advice every time he steps on the court.

Brayden will be attending McHenry High School next year, where he plans to continue playing basketball. He also hopes to join the track, golf, and football teams. Best of luck next year, Brayden. Once a Jr. Bulldog, always a Jr. Bulldog!

🏀 2️⃣3️⃣ COLTON MIGLANS 🏀

From the moment he stepped onto the court in 3rd grade, Colton made his mark as a Wauconda Jr. Bulldog. Throughout his years as a Jr. Bulldog, he has grown into both a resilient and fierce competitor, never letting opposing players faze him or his gameplay. On offense, his aggressive shots both inside and beyond the arc, as well as his exceptional playmaking ability, make him a threat to every opponent. On defense, his relentless presence has allowed him to lead his team in both steals and blocks since 5th grade. On the court, Colton uplifts his teammates and encourages them to take shots and fight to get the ball.

Colton describes his time as a Jr. Bulldog as SIGNIFICANT. His favorite Bulldog memory is winning the Rockford tournament 2 years in a row! The two things he will miss most about being a Jr. Bulldog are hanging out with his teammates during tournaments and playing against friends on different teams during tournaments. He believes that being a Jr. Bulldog has allowed him to become more mentally tough. A piece of advice that he would give to young Bulldogs would be “don’t take things for granted and always put forth A+ effort.”

Colton will attend Wauconda High School next year, where he plans to play both basketball and football. We can’t wait to watch you shine, Colton!

The one word Daniel uses to describe his time on the Jr. Bulldogs is DETERMINED! Some of his greatest memories as a Jr. Bulldog come from making awesome blocks on opponents’ shots.
