Meet Coach Bryan Colella:

Bryan has been coaching offensive skills for close to 20 years, starting during his own playing days, with a focus on stickhandling, puck control, and playmaking. He spent several seasons as a lead instructor with Turcotte Stickhandling School, working with players of all ages and levels. Today, he coaches with Brookline High School Boys Varsity and Boston Junior Eagles.

A former NCAA Division II and Junior A forward, Bryan compiled nearly a point per game over his junior and collegiate career.

🧠 WHY IT WORKS:

THREAT: Sell the shot with your hands, posture, and weight transfer, forcing the goalie to drop / get set.

GOALIE’S DILEMMA: If the goalie respects the shot, they have to set early.

RESULT: Once you push the fake out, the goalie is forced to try to recover to the far post. When they dig that blade in to push across, the pad comes up and the five hole opens.

WHEN TO APPLY: This is best applied when a goalie challenges aggressively, creating separation from the far post - often in a 2 on 1 or fast break.

These reviews are exactly why I started Elite Hands Hockey.

The goal has never been to run players through drills. It’s to help players understand why a skill works, build the confidence to use it in games, and create an environment where they love coming back to the rink.

One of the most rewarding parts of coaching is seeing players take what they learn and use it in games.

Looking for offensive skills on-ice training in the greater Boston area? This is for intermediate and advanced players ages 10-19.

We’ll be running our Offensive Skills Camp at Jim Roche Arena from July 20–23. The focus is on helping already skilled players improve their stickhandling, puck control, and deception to get more shots and create more offense.

There are two age groups:

Youth Session: Ages 10–14
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

High School Session: Ages 14–19
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The camp is focused, competitive, and useful - helping players understand how to apply these skills in game situations.
Remaining spots are limited.
