Hi, I’m Kamerra 👋🏾

Director of Equine Programs at Nokomis Farm Foundation in Orange, Virginia.

I’ve spent years in the equestrian industry as a trainer, clinician, and collegiate coach, helping horses and riders build confidence, partnership, and a little grit along the way.

A few things about me:

☕ I’m always up for coffee: hot, iced, or a soy chai tea latte.

🐴 Horses have taken me all over the country and introduced me to some incredible people.

I love to laugh and firmly believe every barn day comes with a story.

When I’m not at the barn, you’ll usually find me spending time with friends, planning my next adventure, or cheering on my students from the rail.

Let’s meet!! I’ll be hosting clinics at Nokomis farms each month, next one is July 3! Interested? Send me a message!

Nokomis Farm is home to legendary USHJA Hall of Fame Diana Dodge. Grateful to pay homage to her legacy. ✨

One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give any student is this: never stop learning.

More importantly, don’t limit yourself to learning only from people within your own discipline. Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned throughout my career have come from stepping outside my comfort zone and listening to horsemen and women whose backgrounds looked completely different from my own. ✨

One of the greatest things about the horse industry is the people you meet along the way. I’ve learned from professionals in Western, Dressage, Saddle Seat, Driving, breed disciplines, and beyond. A good horseman is a good horseman.

Swipe through for a few of my favorite moments spent learning from some incredible horsemen and horsewomen over the years. Every conversation, clinic, and opportunity to listen has helped shape the horsewoman and coach I am today. 🌟

What a fantastic turnout at our second Nokomis Farm clinic! ✨

More than anything, I was impressed by the confidence, positivity, and growth each horse and rider combination showed throughout the day. Watching riders leave feeling empowered, motivated, and excited to continue their journey is exactly why we love doing these clinics.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a success. We can’t wait to see you at the next one! 💚

Oh, the places you’ll go. 🤍

Twenty-five years ago, I was just a horse-crazy little girl dreaming big from the sidelines.

Today, I’m a mentor, trainer, coach, motivational speaker, and still just as horse crazy.

The titles may have changed, the journey has taken me farther than I ever imagined, but the passion has never left. If anything, it’s only grown stronger.

To the little girl in that photo: we did it. And we’re not finished yet.

Full-circle moments like this are one of my favorite parts of this sport. 💛
I met Lily when she was just 7 years old, riding a little pony named Knight. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of helping guide her journey from the pony ring to hauling her own horse to Upperville.
This week, I got to coach her, ride alongside her, and help her navigate one of the biggest venues in our sport as she took her young horse, Cavan, to Upperville. From braiding his mane and tail to caring for every detail, she handled it all with the horsemanship, dedication, and maturity that make me so proud.
Cavan was absolutely lovely all week. The 90-degree heat caught up with him a bit, leading to a couple of green moments, but for a young horse at Upperville, I truly couldn’t have asked for him to be better.
Lily Pad, watching you grow from that little girl on Knight into the rider, horsewoman, and young woman you are today has been incredibly special. I’m so proud of you and excited to see where this journey takes you next. ✨

✨ 4 Signs You’re Evolving as an Athlete ✨

1️⃣ You’re more focused on growth than validation.

2️⃣ You recover from setbacks faster and with more confidence.

3️⃣ You trust your instincts and ride with intention.

4️⃣ You’re finding joy in the process, not just the outcome.

Because sometimes progress isn’t measured by ribbons, rankings, or results.

Sometimes it’s quieter than that.

It’s the confidence you feel walking into the ring. The trust you’ve built with your horse. The resilience you’ve developed after difficult days. The athlete you’re becoming when no one is watching.

When I’m mentoring riders, we spend a lot of time focusing on the mental side of the sport. Confidence, mindset, self-awareness, resilience, and learning how to navigate both the highs and lows of competition. Those skills may not always show up on the score sheet right away, but they create the foundation for lasting success.

Share this with a fellow rider!
