Congratulations to Braeden Hemenway for being one of three Americans to make the Valley JR. Wildcats (Berwick, Nova Scotia) roster for the 22/23 season in the MJHL’s Canadian Junior A Hockey League.

Keep working and have a great rookie season in the league Braeden.

Heard a great line from a Division 1 Head Coach today as we were discussing all of these showcases going on this summer.

“Hockey is a team game and as coaches we are looking for team players. We’ll find out the back story on if you are a good teammate, good in the room, coachable, all the intangibles.

That being said, I’d I’m watching you play as an individual, even in a showcase without your regular team, trying to do it all to look good, I probably pass on you as I’m not seeing a player who understands how to play within a simple team structure.”

That is a pretty honest assessment from a guy who has won championships on what coaches at the NCAA level are looking for. Think on that as a player before you decide it’s your puck only and you decide you’d rather make a highlight reel for YouTube as opposed to your next team.

Today should be day 3 of Performance Hockey New England’s Thanksgiving Break Camp. We are as bummed about canceling this camp as was every player who was looking forward to working out and participating with us. We are working smartly to be back up and skating soon. Please be on the lookout for our next on-ice sessions. Be safe, wear a mask and wash your hands!
