There has been something missing from my racing posts. I am ashamed and disappointed in myself. This picture sits in my bathroom for the last few years as a reminder to always consider what is most important, in all situations. And really, what I desire to be most important is that I am in the will of God and loving Him first and foremost. And that includes acknowledging and giving Him the glory for what He has done for me.
Romans 1:21 ESV
For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
I do not want to become foolish and darkened, lost in thinking that does not acknowledge His provision for and over me.
God is the one who opened this door to racing for me, God is the one who has led amazing, loving and skilled people into my life, even if they don’t realize it. God gives me the courage and confidence to get on that track and God is the one who has kept me safe in the midst of the chaos. So to Him be the glory first! I am wholly grateful for the people that are pouring into my life and the friendship and fellowship that is the fruit of that. But I can not forget or fail to appreciate and acknowledge that God almighty gets the first fruits- He gets the glory. Without Him and without the loving sacrifice of His son Jesus - I am nothing. And nothing I desire compares to Him.
Thank you Lord for opening this door, for bringing beautiful people into my life, for keeping me safe and for loving me enough to sacrifice Your own son for me.
