We ended the season on a high today as we sealed a double over Riverview with a comfortable 2-0 win in the end.

We took the lead when Andy Straughan did some great work down the left hand side, cutting back for Jaymie Adams with a great first time finish to put us 1-0 up.

It was then 2-0 when Connor Helens flicked on Graham White's ball into the path of Lewis Donnelly who finished expertly with less than 10 mins to go to seal the 3 points.

Great resolve from a low turnout today to see us end the season in style. It's been a tough opening season at times but we've found a bit more rhythm of late and we want to carry that onto next season.

Onwards and upwards.

RYHOPE ALBION 1

Back to winning ways this morning as we beat Ryhope Albion in a solid display from the lads.

3 up at Half Time thanks to goals from Jamie Arthurs (2) and Liam Potts, we wrapped it up with a goal in the 2nd Half from Connor Scott.

Great effort and persistence from the lads has led to this result and hopefully the start of a good end to the season.

MOTM was Jamie Arthurs, two goals and a class performance.

Sunderland South Jolly Potters FC 4

A tough day at the office again today as we suffered another defeat, our 3rd of the season, against Sunderland South.

We started stronger, Jamie Arthurs winning a penalty which Connor Scott saw saved by the South keeper. We missed a couple of chances in the opening 15 minutes which we soon regretted.

They capitalised from our missed chances and went 3-0 up in a period of about 15 minutes. All 3 came from their striker who was clinical all game.

It was 3-1 in the 2nd Half when Andy Straughan picked up on Kurt Foster's expert through ball and slotted home. They had a chance for 4-1 from the penalty spot but Skinner saved it brilliantly.

Their striker soon made it 4-1 and wrapped up the game despite us having more chances.

It wasn't to be today, Sunderland South showing why they are up there in the title race this season and we aren't. They were clinical and held us at bay. Good luck to them for the rest of the season.

Sean Simpson was our MOTM, the club also gave it to Kurt Foster.

On a more serious note, we hope that Sunderland South's Manager, Paul Gibson , makes it home soon and wish him and his family well. If anyone sees or hears from him, please let his family know.

Back in action this weekend as we look to put our run of defeats to an end against a strong Sunderland South Jolly Potters FC side.

We know we'll be in for a good game against these lads on Sunday, I'd imagine this will be a cracker.

A tough one to take today despite a spirited performance from a bare 11. Proud of how the lads fought and played, being 4-2 up at Half Time before going down to 10 due to injury in the 2nd Half.

We took the lead through Lewis Donnelly who struck a sweet volley into the bottom right corner, a cracking finish. It was soon 1-1 through their own screamer before Browny went through off a great pass from Carl and slotted home for 2-1.

2 soon became 3 when Jamie Arthurs jinked around their defence and struck a great finish in off both posts. We capped off a great half with a brilliant team goal worked all the way from Jack Southern in goal to Browny who chested down for Carl to smash home from close range for 4-1.

However, injuries and having no subs left us short and we ended up losing in the end.

MOTM was Browny and Lewis Donnelly. Could've been a few of the lads. We appreciated Lewis coming back to play for us again today and hopefully not the last time we see you in a Stella shirt.

Big thanks to Jack Southern as well for stepping up and playing in goal when needed. Made some good saves, what a hero!

UPCOMING FIXTURE

Back in action on Sunday. We've been poor lately, not getting great turnouts and struggling as a result but we're aiming to put that to bed this weekend against Silksworth FC.

No doubt will be a cracker.
