Welcome to MAWasson Coaching & Consulting.

My work sits at the intersection of leadership, recovery, connection, and change.

As a Leadership Coach and Family Recovery Consultant, I work across two distinct but deeply connected areas.

I coach emerging and established leaders, design leadership development programs, facilitate workshops and retreats, and support organizations navigating growth, transition, and change.

I also work with families and loved ones affected by substance use through family coaching, intervention planning and facilitation, sober coaching, and sober companionship.

The connection between these areas is personal.

More than 22 years ago, recovery gave me the opportunity to rebuild my life and discover a way of living I could not yet imagine. My experience as a gay man living openly with HIV has also taught me the value of being honest about who I am.

My life and work have been shaped by four ideas:

Risk. Vulnerability. Trust. Ownership.

Those principles helped me build a meaningful career, a long-term relationship, a business, and a life grounded in service, connection, and purpose.

They also guide how I work with leaders, families, and organizations.

I bring more than 20 years of senior leadership experience, professional coaching credentials, and lived recovery experience to every engagement. My approach combines kindness and empathy with clarity, honesty, and compassionate accountability.

Whether I am working with a leader, a team, an organization, or a family in crisis, my goal is the same: to create the conditions for honest conversation, meaningful connection, personal ownership, and lasting change.

I work virtually, throughout the Washington, D.C. region, and travel when the work requires it.

Through empathic listening, unwavering support, and accountability, I journey with my clients in exploring their values, setting meaningful goals, and designing a life aligned with their true desires. I believe in the power of authentic relationships, flexibility, and the joy of discovery as elements on the journey to lasting change and fulfillment.

Exciting Announcement!

I am thrilled to share that MAWasson Coaching & Consulting (MAWasson LLC) is now officially registered! 🎉 This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the incredible support and encouragement from all of you. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.

My venture into coaching began in 2018 and has been an enriching path ever since. Achieving my CPCC with the Co-Active Training Institute in 2019 and my ACC with the International Coaching Federation in 2020 has equipped me with the tools and knowledge to make meaningful impact.

Throughout the years, I've had the privilege of working with courageous clients who have inspired me with their dedication and resilience. Each interaction has been a gift, shaping my journey and fueling my passion for coaching.

One area close to my heart is supporting individuals in recovery who aspire for more than just overcoming their challenges. Additionally, I've had the privilege of facilitating/collaborating with groups passionate leaders who are committed to driving positive change in their organizations and communities.
