Mom’s, have you taken your emotional health temperature lately?
Single parenting can trigger a lot of heavy emotions, i.e., stress, frustration, loss, sadness, anger, heartbreak, indecisiveness, confusion, overwhelm.
As a single mom myself, I experienced many of these feelings and more when raising my children. The one thing I’ve learned through my journey as a single parent is NOT to hold these feelings in. Not talking with anyone about ways you can resolve or work through “your” emotions will ultimately affect your children. And, eventually, if not immediately, your children will start mimicking your behavior and actions.
So I ask you, what do you want your children to learn from you? Healthy or unhealthy behaviors?
What are you doing to take care of yourself, moms? How are you healing your emotional triggers so they don’t trickle down to your children?
I know, this is straight to the point and maybe a little harsh and, I want you to know that you matter, your health, (emotional as well as physical) matters!
If we learn to take care of our mental/emotional health we ultimately pass along valuable insight to our children. Insight that will support them as they journey through their lives.
