I was thinking about Earth Day this morning when I had an “A-Ha!” moment. I realized that we could draw several parallels between Earth Day and a Personal Brand.

At first that may sound unlikely, but the more I thought about it, the closer the alignment became.

So here are the 5 POWERFUL PARALLELS I identified:

► Awareness & Purpose
► Consistency
► Authenticity
► Community Engagement
► Long-Term Impact

In other words, it's like having a mini-Earth Day every day: staying true to yourself, connecting with others, and leaving a positive mark. Both remind us that our actions, whether for the planet or our personal brand, have long-lasting effects and require ongoing commitment for a brighter future.

Absolutely thrilled to empower women to reach any career milestone. Who says we need to switch jobs to progress?

Reflecting on the UN's theme for International Women's Day 2024, "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," I recall the remarkable shift. A decade ago, 90% of my LinkedIn clients were men, with women taking the “I’ll do it later” approach, understandably prioritizing family over career advancement.

In the last 3 years, the balance has shifted to nearly 50-50. Today, more women have come to realize that creating a unique Personal Brand in concert with a compelling LinkedIn profile can open doors to unexpected opportunities. Since LinkedIn is every talent scout’s tool of choice, each of us needs to make it our tool of choice as well.

I'm touched and humbled by the opportunity to aid these women in navigating the digital market, at the same time ensuring that they receive the recognition they deserve.

My goal for everyone? "Get seen by the people who need you!"

In the last few days before Christmas every December Jon Stamell sends me a cartoon that recaps the hot topic of the current year. This is not Jon's day job either. Together with his good friend George Hughes in their imaginary company, Gigundo Industries, they create an annual cartoon that makes us laugh, smile, and nod our heads in agreement.

Each year it's quite the challenge to capture the most prevalent issue. Summing up 2023, Jon said: "While politics, the economy and Taylor Swift were everywhere, one topic threatened the real Santa. So we decided to focus on that."

AI is certainly a game changer. Just remember not to lose your unique voice in the process.

In the meantime, enjoy the holiday season.
