Chess is Life

Chess is Life We promote chess in the community and in education to help students with critical thinking & everyday life skills like problem solving.

Follow us on twitter Our vision and thoughts of formulating a chess organization to promote chess in the community and in education all started at a 7th grade football game a year ago with a friendly challenge to a game of chess by a very talented and intelligent young man who was definitely set on teaching me a few things about the game. Quite some time has passed since that initi

al meeting and he has been very receptive and open to learning more about this concept of “Chess is Life”! Myles Jay, my partner and Co-Founder, is a brilliant young Community Organizer who would do anything in his power to help children succeed by strengthening their education through learning the game of chess. Imagine IF we could get children to see chess as more than just a game, where the game in and of itself starts to subliminally teach them things like critical thinking, analytical thinking, patience, pattern recognition, self-development and everyday life skills like problem solving and thinking things through thoroughly before reacting…“Don’t move until you see it.”

If I pay attention to life and pay attention to time, will I figure out the thoughts perplexed in my mind? In life, things aren’t always what they seem, for the true definition of success is the glimpse of reality inside of a dream!” ~ R.I.P. James L. Butts, Jr. 2044-2010
