From 90% to 100% P&T – on the first try! 🇺🇸

This veteran had tried 3–4 times on his own to increase his rating from 90% to 100%, but kept hitting roadblocks. After connecting with me, we tackled his claim strategically — and he got approved the first time.

If you’ve been stuck trying to increase your VA rating, you don’t have to do it alone. The right guidance can make all the difference.

𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀: Am I eligible for VA benefits for PTSD, depression, or anxiety?
𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝟰𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀: Yes! You may be eligible for VA compensation for conditions like PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

Mental health challenges, though often invisible, can impact your work, relationships, and daily life just as much as physical injuries. If you can show that your military service caused or worsened these conditions, you could qualify for VA benefits.

Keep in mind, the VA uses a unified rating system for mental health disorders, meaning you’ll receive one rating that covers all your mental health conditions, rather than separate ratings for PTSD, anxiety, or depression.

Your VA medical records can make or break your claim. Without them, you’re forced to rely on additional evidence, which can slow things down and complicate the process.

When your records are complete and organized, you give your claim the best chance of approval—sometimes on the first submission.

🤔 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?
A 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 in VA disability benefits occurs when a condition not directly caused by military service is linked to a service-connected disability. In other words, a new health issue develops—or an existing one worsens—because of a previously established, service-related condition.

✅ 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭?
Claims for secondary service connection are crucial because they 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 tied to military service. Veterans can experience additional disabilities that stem from an existing service-connected condition.

Filing these claims ensures veterans receive compensation that reflects their full range of disabilities, leading to better benefits and improved access to healthcare.

Knowing how the VA calculates combined ratings is crucial for veterans. The Department of Veterans Affairs uses a unique method—often called VA Math—to figure out your overall disability rating.

But here’s the challenge: VA Math can be confusing, especially for veterans aiming for that 100% total rating. The process isn’t straightforward, and that’s where the frustration begins.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘀 𝗩𝗔 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱?
Many veterans find VA Math overwhelming because each additional condition doesn’t simply “add up.” Instead, the VA’s formula reduces the impact of new ratings as they increase—making the climb to 100% feel harder than it should be.

Check out our blog to learn how VA Math works and discover step-by-step tips to calculate your combined rating with confidence! 👇

When leaving military service, one of the biggest questions veterans face is understanding their VA benefits—and just as importantly, knowing how to access them effectively.

Whether you’re a veteran, a dependent, or a surviving spouse, you may be entitled to a wide range of VA benefits. The first step is confirming your eligibility. From there, the process can feel overwhelming—where to go for help, how to file a strong claim, and how to secure the highest possible disability rating. The good news? Support is available every step of the way.

The benefit most people think of when they say “my VA benefits” is disability compensation—and for good reason. Many veterans return from service with conditions that require care, and compensation is a right they’ve earned.

The VA determines the monthly compensation you’ll receive by assigning a disability rating (or combined rating if you have multiple conditions). This rating also affects what additional VA benefits you qualify for.

It’s worth noting that if you have more than one disability, the VA uses a unique formula—often called “VA math”—to calculate your combined rating. This number may look different from simply adding up your individual ratings.
