💜🖤We’ve been doing travel softball for a LONG time. We have always believed, if a team could just stick together long enough to grow together, trust each other and put team first…special things could happen. That’s EXACTLY what we’ve seen these last two years with this AMAZING Lady Phantoms team.
The girls played hard this last weekend in ridiculously hot, stormy, windy conditions over the course of a three day tournament in Duncan, South Carolina. Congrats to our batting champ Grace Stauffeneker (HOME RUN-babbby!) and our Queen of the Hill defense champ Olivia Grube-the stretchiest 1st baseman on the planet.
For three of our Seniors, this was their last time suiting up in purple and black and we will miss them endlessly.
Grace-it’s no secret that you are an exceptional athlete, you’re our lead off because you are consistent, powerful and fearless. But what we will miss most is your voice LOUDLY cheering on your teammates no matter the score & your amazing sense of humor. You’ve become an integral part of this team, and have forever left a mark.
Emily-you have grown SO much these last two years as an athlete and remarkable young woman. You bring so much humor, light, positivity and contagious energy to this team it’s hard to imagine not having your enthusiasm pulsating in the dugout. We can’t wait to see the big things in store for you!
Kayla-when you joined the team, it was instantly like you had ALWAYS been a part of the Phamily. You’ve never met a stranger, you put everyone at ease and light the dugout with your optimism and spirit. You are an amazing athlete, and an even better teammate. The Bulldogs are lucky to have you.
Coach Chris-saying goodbye to you may be the hardest of all. Your humor, knowledge, sarcasm and energy will be sorely missed. You stepped up HUGE and made an immeasurable impact on the coaching staff, the girls and our families. Thank you for all your hard work and for just being the best kind of weird. There’s always a spot on the bucket for you.
