You were one of the first people I met when I moved to Maui from Oahu 20 years ago. We had that in common right away. But once I got to know you there was so much more…our backgrounds on Oahu, our love for Hawaiian canoe culture, your sense of humor, our families…we were like peas in a pod and have been that way ever since.
Over those years you taught me so much. About our culture, our history, and definitely how to talk to tourists 😊
It’s funny even though I’m Hawaiian when we would do canoe tours together you would have our guests in the palm of your hand, completely mesmerized (including me) by your Hawaiian Superman persona, and after about an hour they’d look back at me and go, “so when did you move here, couple years ago?” 😂😂 It happened a lot and we always got a kick out of it.
What a heroic legacy you leave behind Vene, you touched literal tens of 1000’s of lives, You are an unforgettable character who taught me so much, Your legacy, Keo and Aloha, you have so much to be proud of Vene…our prayers and Aloha to your Ohana, Angela, your kids, from the deepest part of our hearts We Love You ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
