Pretty awesome to get the track record!

still not over 14.268… 🤯

Monday at Petaluma the track record was broken six times during qualifying before Connor Lundy ultimately put a 14.268 on the board during his first USCS appearance, going out in the 3rd group.

And now we’re heading to Kings for the first time this Friday to make records! Excited to see what Hanford brings and definitely hoping we get to see Connor back with us this season!

Calistoga Speedway race recap

Saturday night Connor qualified 6th, putting him on the pole for the feature. He dropped back early but got ahold of himself and drove his way back to the front, catching the lead and holding it for a few laps before getting into some good battles and ultimately bringing it home 3rd to round out the podium.

Night two on Sunday Connor qualified 10th, putting him 4th in the qualifier. On lap one Connor got locked up and spun in turns 1 and 2, sending him to the back for the restart. On the start Connor made a move to pass a car and ended up getting stuck between the car and the wall, causing him to flip on the front straight and doing some pretty severe damage to the car.

The team worked hard and managed to get the car fixed and pushed back out for the main event. Connor started dead last and worked his way all the way up to 13th overall.

A great learning experience and a solid run all weekend. Thank you to everyone who makes it happen and continues to support Connor and the team. None of this would be possible without you.

*RACE RECAP FROM PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY*

Connor had a great night from start to finish. He qualified 4th and then started 5th in his heat. He worked his way forward and finished 2nd, nearly catching the leader before the checkered flag.

Starting 4th in the main event, Connor put together a great race and brought home the WIN! He made a last-lap pass to take the lead ending in an exciting 0.01 second photo finish and another win at Perris.

We also have a great update on Matt. He is officially out of surgery and even got to FaceTime Connor from victory lane after the race. He is now about to be discharged from the hospital.

After everything that happened this weekend, what a way to turn it around. We couldn’t be more proud of Connor and thankful for everyone who supported us, helped out, and kept Matt in your thoughts and prayers.

A special thank you to Rj Johnson, Billy, Chuck, and Joey for getting Connor out to Perris and being his crew, we truly could not have gotten this win without you all.

PHOTO FINISH FOR CONNOR LUNDY’S SECOND WIN AT PERRIS
By Lance Jennings

PERRIS, CALIFORNIA – AUGUST 16, 2026… After one of the closest finishes in the history of the Avanti Windows & Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series, Connor Lundy of Peoria, Arizona emerged victorious at Perris Auto Speedway. After stalking point leader R.J. Johnson during the closing laps, Lundy surged off the final corner in the Matt Lundy owned #97 Apache Transport / JUGO Superfoods Sherman to claim his second consecutive victory by 0.01 seconds. Fast qualifier Johnson was second, “The Pride of Garden Grove” Brody Roa took third, early leader “The Big Game Hunter” Austin Williams claimed fourth, and Eddie Tafoya Jr. scored fifth in the 30-lap main event.

Laveen, Arizona’s R.J. Johnson opened the program by earning his ninth Woodland Auto Display Fast Time Award of 2026. Driving the Petty Performance Racing Avanti Windows & Doors / JUGO Superfoods Sherman, Johnson’s set the night’s standard with a time of 16.776 seconds ahead of Roa, Cole Wakim, Lundy, and Williams. For his efforts, R.J. earned an extra $100 bonus from David Siesser.

Johnson followed up his twenty-second career fast time award by topping the 10-lap Sexton Fire Protection First Heat Race. The multi-time Arizona Sprint Car Champion finished ahead of Williams, leading rookie “The Pineapple” Daylin Perreira, Wakim, Brecken Guerrero, Dayton Shelton, and Stevie Rogers. After running second in the feature, R.J. narrowly missed the extra $1,000 “sweep” bonus raised by longtime infield announcer Chris Holt by one position.

“The Pride of Garden Grove” Brody Roa raced to victory in the 10-lap Roy Miller Freight Lines Second Heat Race. Driving the BR Performance owned DRC backed by Chino Ranch and “Biker” Bruce Fischer, the former USAC/CRA champion was followed by Lundy, Tafoya, Connor Speir, Blake Hendricks, Verne Sweeney, and Gary Marshall Jr.

After starting sixth and placing second in the 30-lap feature, R.J. Johnson also earned the night’s Hard Charger Award / “Best Passing Job” honors.
