From September 16–October 23, I’m hosting a fully asynchronous voice-note book club around The Soul of Money.

Over our weeks together, we’ll explore:

💰 Your inherited money story, because you didn’t make this s**t up.

💰 Scarcity, “abundance,” and sufficiency, because what actually is enough?

💰 Money, commerce, and capitalism, because you’re not ending capitalism by not receiving money.

💰 Learning to love your Inner Accountant, because she makes really Good Points and we need her.

💰 Cyclical sufficiency, because that’s how Nature works.

This isn’t about learning how to become richer.

It’s about changing the relationship you have with money—so that money can become more aligned with the Life you actually value.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

This will be a spacious, fully asynchronous conversation in Voxer.

At the beginning of each week, I’ll choose one of my favorite excerpts from The Soul of Money, send you a voice-note exploring it, and offer some questions for us to sit with.

Then we have the whole week.

You can talk with us.
You can listen.
You can journal privately.
You can read the whole book alongside us or never open it.

You cannot get behind.

At the minimum, you can participate in about 15 minutes a week. Because it feels particularly important to me that I don’t invite you into 6 weeks of exploring sufficiency by immediately creating another place in your Life where you feel like you’re not doing enough.

Everything is invitation, not obligation.

My dad’s gambling addiction and my parents’ divorce took my family from upper middle class to below the poverty line when I was around 12–13 years old.

At the same time, I was growing up in a conservative, fundamentalist, high-control church where I absorbed complicated messages about money and faith.

Somewhere along the way, those stories became tangled together.

I came to believe that having money was the opposite of having faith—and that maybe God didn’t give me money because He knew I couldn’t be trusted with it.

Nobody ever explicitly taught me that.

But that’s the thing about our Money Stories: we don’t only inherit what people tell us. We make meaning from what happens to us.

In this episode, we explore:

• How childhood, family, religion, culture, and painful experiences shape our relationship with money

• The difference between blame and recognizing how we co-created our own stories

• Why a Money Story doesn’t feel like a story and simply feels like reality

• Becoming curious about our beliefs instead of immediately trying to “fix” them

• Why I no longer believe healing means arriving at a final, perfected relationship with money

• My movement from Scarcity → Abundance → Sufficiency

• What the book The Soul of Money helped me understand about money as God in action

• Jesus’ teaching, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”—and what might happen when we intentionally move our treasure

• What it might mean to create a more shame-free, Natural relationship with Money

In Ted Andrews’ book Nature-Speak (highly recommend!) he talks about Holly, and he’s not even rooted in the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar, but I loved the convergence of all of it.

He said that Holly carries the energy of the Spiritual Warrior, but that this energy needs to be honed, pruned, watched, and directed.

Scattered energy creates problems.

The point isn’t to become more forceful. It’s to become clearer about where your Life force belongs.

And that feels so appropriate for a Full Moon: illumination. Seeing clearly where your energy has actually been going.

Maybe the Spiritual Warrior isn’t someone who has learned how to fight harder, but someone who has become exquisitely discerning about what is Sacred enough to you to fight for at all.

The immature warrior fights everything.

The wounded warrior protects against everything.

The Spiritual Warrior knows what is Sacred enough to protect—and remains Loving while protecting it.

As women, there are SO MANY things we’re supposed to care about…

Every notification wants our attention.
Every problem wants our concern.
Every opportunity wants a yes.
Every algorithm has something new for us to be outraged about.
Every industry has another thing we should be learning, creating, posting, optimizing, or improving.

And sometimes we confuse being a Loving, caring, spiritually awake person with being available to all of it.

This month, in the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar, the Holly tree has been teaching me about what happens when we STOP scattering our energy.

And with eclipse season and Virgo season bringing their own flavors to the mix right now, this feels like an especially aligned moment for what I’m calling a Devotion Audit.

Sometimes growth looks like becoming more devoted.

But also sometimes it looks like realizing:

I don’t actually care about this anymore.
I don’t believe this anymore.
I don’t want to spend my Life force here anymore.
This isn’t mine to carry.
