Kate offers training and lessons in SE Va. She focuses on creating a balanced, relaxed and confident horse both over fences and in the dressage ring.

She has trained horses of all breeds and specalizes in producing young horses and the OTTB sporthorse.

Shew! What a busy month! Between work and the ridiculous heat it’s been hard to keep everyone in work the last couple of weeks.

HOWEVER, THE SCHEDULE GOES BACK TO NORMAL THIS WEEK! Yay! Plus, coincidentally, fall weather 🍁 is supposed to make an appearance.

I am toying with the idea of offering weekly or bi monthly jumper rounds here at our farm.

The way it would work is that you would get a 20 minute timeslot giving you the opportunity to warm-up a bit in the ring (I do not have nor have an additional warm up ring) and then do your round. If you have time left over, you could do your round/parts of it again or just schedule a separate timeslot for another round. If you’re doing another level, you would have to schedule a second timeslot.

If needed or wanted, I can offer coaching in the form of traditional coaching or a fix-a-round type format.

I am trying to gauge interest so if you’re interested, please send me an email with the following information:

• Heights/level(s)
• Preference for weekday eve or weekend afternoon (or possibly alternating?).

Due to the consecutive days of high heat index I’m giving all of the horses today off. I feel as if it is irresponsible to work them today as the effects of the heat are cumulative. We will get back to work on Tues!

Now offering full training board!

People ask me all the time and now I’m finally able to fill 3 more spots (1 already filled).

Beginning June 1:

🔹2 openings for stall board.

🔹1 opening for pasture board.

Options for full and half training.

Small, well managed farm with owner/manager on site. Small herd turnout on excellent grass with run ins.

Please call or text if you are interested in discussing a program for your horse. I am now starting/backing horses on a case by case basis.

I’m sorry guys, running late this week! I finished up a busy (horse) work week with three great lessons with my coach! Her insight is invaluable to me and my program and I truly believe in continuing education both as a rider/athlete and as a coach/trainer. Being a student of the sport and the animal is more important to me than competing.

Anyways, schedule for the week is below.

Also, I have a new software program (Stable Secretary )for scheduling, horse records etc. My owners and lesson clients all get a login. If I have your email, you’ve been sent a link to create an account within my “stable” where you will be able to view all of your horse’s records, training plan, photos etc. As an owner, you can also utilize it for record keeping by uploading coggins etc and tracking vet/farrier/bodywork etc.

For lesson students, you can also create an account within my “stable” (no charge for any of these accounts, they are all under my account) to view the schedule, claim open spots and view the competition schedule! Super exciting!

As I get further into using the software I will also utilize it for billing.
