A few pictures of our Annual Club Picnic at Pakim Pond in Brendan Byrne State Forest, Saturday, September 12. Four various-length pre-picnic hikes, a slow bike ride and a chance to try out kayaking on the pond, as well as fun and games, good food and friends. A big THANK You to Mark and Kate Laible for once again organizing a fun event. And thank you to all the volunteers who helped make it happen.

Just a few hours left to register for the 2026 Tour de Pines Bike Ride before the price increase tomorrow (Sept 1). What are you waiting for?

We are wheelie excited to tell you that there is still space to register for our annual Tour de Pines event! Join us in celebrating Pinelands Month in October with four single-day tours of the New Jersey Pinelands from October 1 – October 4.

All routes start & finish in the same location; participants can register for individual races or multiple!

This year's start/finish locations are:
✅ October 1: Renault Winery & Resort in Egg Harbor City, NJ
✅ October 2: Whitesbog Preservation Trust in Browns Mills, NJ
✅ October 3: Parvin State Park in Pittsgrove, NJ
✅ October 4: Pinelands Alliance in Southampton, NJ

This 2026 Tour de Pines is sponsored by the Outdoor Club of South Jersey , an all-volunteer organization founded in 1967 dedicated to connecting people to nature. We are pleased to work with Kermesse Sport to organize the Tour de Pines, which allows us to continue to offer high-quality biking events for you to enjoy.

A portion of the proceeds from the Tour de Pines benefits the work of the Pinelands Alliance so there are always green places to ride your bike!

Historical Cattus Island provides a unique habitat of salt marshes & woodland. We hiked 6.5 miles of easy trails enjoying the end of Summer around the salt marsh and rooted trails.

All of the OCSJ Discount Coupons were sold out in the first week, but you can still register – and hopefully you do so soon! Note that the early bird price of $60 for the first day increases on 9/1/26 to $65 and then on 9/15 to $70.

Last Monday's Walk from Bullock Hike. 5-7 mile moderately paced walk on the sand roads and wider trails of Brendan Byrne State Forest and Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area.
