As our summer season comes to a close, we want to take a moment to say thank you to two partners who made this entire season possible: YMCA of Vincennes and the Vincennes Parks & Recreation / Rainbow Beach.

Without access to their pools, our swimmers simply wouldn't have had a place to train, grow, and compete this season. From daily practices to meet preparation, these facilities gave our team the space to work toward every best time, every personal goal, and every proud moment on the podium this summer.
We're incredibly grateful for their continued support of WVST and our swimmers. This team doesn't exist without a place to swim — thank you for being that place. 🦈

The WVST Sharks competed in two big meets last weekend! Seven Sharks competed at Divisionals, and Braelyn represented WVST and Team Indiana at the 2026 Central Zone 14U Championship.

🥇 1st Place Finishes: Yaretzi (100 Free, 200 Free, 100 Fly), Ethan (100 Back, 200 Back)
🥈 2nd Place Finishes: Yaretzi (50 Free, 200 Fly), Ethan (50 Free, 100 Fly), Carter (100 Back), AJ (1650 Free)
🥉 3rd Place Finishes: Ethan (100 Free), Carter (100 Breast)
4️⃣ 4th Place Finishes: Carter (50 Free), AJ (500 Free, 100 Breast)
5️⃣ 5th Place Finishes: Daniel (100 Breast)
6️⃣ 6th Place Finishes: Carter (100 Free, 100 Fly), Daniel (100 Back, 200 Breast)
7️⃣ 7th Place Finishes: AJ (200 Free)
8️⃣ 8th Place Finishes: AJ (50 Free)

🔥 Sydney and Verity both swam multiple events. Sydney put up new personal bests in the 50 Back, 50 Free, and 100 Free. Verity crushed her previous personal bests in the 50 Free and 200 Free.

📉 Braelyn dropped time in all 5 individual events! Placing 10th in the 100 Fly, 12th in the 200 Fly, and 15th in the 50 Fly.
🥈 2nd Place Finish: Braelyn's fly leg helped the 400 Medley Relay finish 2nd!

Meet week is here! This weekend, Yaretzi, Sydney, Verity, Daniel, Ethan, Carter, and AJ head to Divisionals, while Braelyn competes at Zones. Every one of them has put in the work all season to earn this moment.

Braelyn had a meet to remember at the 2026 Indiana Swimming Age Group State Championship this past weekend, competing in seven events and walking away with best times in five of them. From the 50 Free to the 200 Fly, she brought grit and focus to every race - but her standout swim came in the 100 Fly, where she dropped time from prelims to finals (crushed her second 50 split) and finished 4th place overall. Braelyn also finished 7th in the 200 Fly and posted personal bests in the 50, 100, and 200 Free, proving her range across multiple strokes and distances at the biggest meet of the season. Braelyn will advance and finish her season representing Team Indiana at the Central Zone 14 & Under Championship this weekend.

The WVST Sharks closed out their last Long Course regular season meet at the 2026 WIN Outside Smoke (Prelims/Finals) this past weekend. All 12 Sharks exceeded their coaches expectations during this long weekend of competition!

Three WVST Sharks experienced their first Open Water competition yesterday at the 2026 Indiana Swimming Open Water Championship!

🥈2nd Place - Girls 10 & Under: Wakely Miller
⭐️12th Place - Girls 13-14: Remi Miller
⭐️20th Place - Boys 13-14: AJ Gomez

📏Wakely swam 400m (1 Lap), Remi & AJ swam 1200m (3 Laps) around Geist Waterfront Park in Fishers Indiana.

🫡 We are very proud of all three swimmers for trying something new and getting out of their comfort zones!
