Yesterday we had the family fun day at the Vincennes Gun Club, Inc., we were able to get some family members up to the tline to give them a chance to shoot as well.
We were able to hand out patches to shooters who shot perfect 25 and 50 straights throughout the season.
We had a lot of Bill Bobe's pizza and several other snack and some home made cookies to snack on!
Then we shot several games with our shotguns.
The first is an "Annie Oakley" where up to 4 people can shoot at a target. #1 call for the target, but if they miss, up to 3 more shooters can shoot until it is broken and then they are out. So, if #1,2 and 3 shoot and miss and #4 hits the target, #1-3 are out of the game. It continues until there is one shooter left, who is declared the winner.
We play another version of "Annie Oakley" that is called pieces, even if you call for and hit your target, but the next shooter is able to shoot and break a piece, no matter how big or small, you are out.
We also played protection, you have a partner and 10 targets, if you miss and your partner hits it, it counts for the score, whatever pair of shooters hits the most of 10 targets wins, regardless of the number of back up shots.
We also shot from "the pad" that is 40-50 yards away from the trap house, a very hard shot, each shooter gets to shoot at 5 targets, most broken targets out of 5 wins.
Overall, we had a great day!
We will shoot one more practice day before we head to the state championships on June 21st!!
