“ Yoga with Devotion ” With Andres Berrio
If you’re anything like me when I started doing yoga, your mental capacity for it is a delightful pairing of confused and open-minded. You understand that it exists, a lot of people do it, they wear pants to it, spirituality may or may not be part of it, and it seems a lot like exercise, or, at the very least, stretching. Fortunately, if this is your mindset, you’re not wrong in any way, shape, or form; however, there’s always more to learn for those inclined. The word “yoga” is actually Sanskrit, an ancient language of India, which means “union” or “yoking together” as that’s what it’s essentially meant to do, bring us together and take that as you may for it means all of it. The practice and philosophy of yoga bring together an individual by helping one breathe, move, and think with purpose and presence while synergizing communities in its lessons of truth and wisdom.
So what’s ‘Yoga with Devotion’ then? Well, in truth we realize everyone is much the same and just lives quite differently. To work with this, we study these differences and learn to use them to figure our inherent health and how to balance it in different situations. In studying people, we’re not hard-pressed to notice areas of prolonged stress, tension and lack of love and devotion for oneself that, gone unnoticed, turn into discomfort, injury and emotional stress. Most of us have suffered physically, whether it be in our shoulders, abdominals, lower backs, hips, thighs, hamstrings, calves or pretty much any of our joints which is mostly caused by the lack of attention and devotion.
This customized “Yoga with Devotion” practice targets these areas through energy work such as reiki healing which focuses on elevating the stagnant/low vibration.
