Fly Fishing, Fishing Conservation, recreation, education Introduction
The Sespe Fly Fishers had its start in 1978.

The object was to form a group of dedicated fly fishers and fly tyers with a common interest in conservation, education, and fellowship. While the club emphasizes fly fishing for trout, we also occasionally focus our attention on other saltwater and freshwater species with speakers and club outings. Affiliation
In addition to being a member organization of the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) and the Southwest Council of the FFF, we are also supporters of California Trout, Trout Unlimited.

The 2026 Riptide Rendezvous is a catch-and-release surf fishing tournament held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Rincon Beach County Park in Carpinteria, California. Organized by the Southwest Council of Fly Fishers International (SWCFFI), the event runs from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., featuring both Fly Fishing and Regular Tackle divisions.

Event Details
Date & Time: Saturday, August 1, 2026. Fishing begins early at 6:30 a.m. and wraps up at 10:00 a.m.
Location: Rincon Beach County Park, Carpinteria, CA (about a 30-minute drive from Port Hueneme).
Divisions: Fly Tackle and Regular Tackle.
Entry: Register and track your catches using the iAngler Tournament App.

Lunch and AwardsAfter the lines are out of the water, head over to the Padaro Beach Grill at 3760 Santa Claus Ln in Carpinteria (about 15 minutes away) for lunch, awards, and a raffle. Awards are handed out immediately following lunch.
