That deeper reach may not actually be coming from your shoulders.

When movement becomes challenging, we may shrug, lock the elbows, grip through the neck or move the ribs and spine to compensate—often without realizing it.

This class began with a request from one of our members, who is also an aerial yoga teacher.

In my new class, Strong & Spacious Shoulders, we use the hammock to build shoulder strength, stability, mobility and awareness.

Created for students and teachers, it includes a full-length practice, an educational discussion and a downloadable lesson plan.

What would you like me to teach next?

One of my favorite things is hearing directly from our members about the classes that would support their practice—whether that’s a shorter class, a longer practice, a specific pose, a variation, mobility, strength or restoration.

Your suggestions genuinely help me decide what to film next. Leave your requests in the comments or send me a message. I’m listening! 🤍

What if feeling restored wasn’t something you had to wait for-but something you could learn?

Aireal restore is a 15 hour immersive digital training designed to help you release tension, decompress the body, regulate the nervous system, and experience rest as an intentional practice.

Move through the training at your own pace and return to it whenever your body needs support-with lifetime access.

For teachers, it offers restorative tools you can bring into your classes.
For students, it’s an opportunity to deepen your own practice and create more space for recovery, balance, and renewal.

Your body doesn’t have to earn rest. It just needs the opportunity to receive it.

The Why Behind the Practice:
Floating Savasana

Most people think the benefits of yoga come from stretching, strengthening, or learning new poses.

Those are certainly part of the practice.

But at AIReal Yoga, I also teach the why behind each movement.

Why we breathe the way we do.

Why we move the way we do.

And why stillness is just as important as movement.

Floating Savasana isn’t simply the end of class.

It’s an opportunity to slow your breath, quiet your mind, and give your body and nervous system time to settle into everything you’ve just experienced.

Because understanding why we practice often changes how we practice.

✨ Let yourself let go.
✨ Let the hammock hold you.
✨ You are safe.
✨ You are light.
✨ You are loved.

Most people think the goal is to get to the “advanced” version of a pose as quickly as possible.

We don’t.

At AIReal Yoga, we believe every variation has value. Every progression is a destination—not just a stepping stone to the next pose.

That’s why our newest Membership class, Star Inversion Progressions & Variations, doesn’t rush you to Double Stag. Instead, it helps you build the strength, mobility, awareness, and confidence to move safely through each stage of the journey.

Because when you understand how to move—not just what to do—you create a practice that lasts.

✨ New class now available inside the AIReal Yoga Membership.

Save this post for later, and share it with someone who believes progress is more important than perfection.

Which progression are you currently exploring—Single Star, Single Stag, or Double Stag? We’d love to hear where you are in your journey.

Yes… we have blogs. ✨

Over the years, I’ve written about everything from movement and recovery to hormones, back pain, longevity, teaching, and what I’ve learned after more than 30 years of practice.

Sometimes Instagram posts aren’t enough.

Sometimes we need more context, deeper conversations, and space to explore ideas that don’t fit inside a caption.

Your hammock holds you through every inversion, every rest, every moment you finally let go.

The least we can do is take care of it.

We created a Hammock Care & Maintenance Guide, to help keep your hammock clean, safe, and silky smooth, whether you practice at home or teach a full studio.

Because clean gear is safe gear. And safe gear is how we keep this practice beautiful.

Your lymphatic system relies on movement to keep things flowing.

When it slows down, the body often tells you:

1. You feel puffy or swollen.

2. Your body feels heavy or stagnant.

3. You feel like your circulation just isn’t moving well.

Practices that include movement, compression, and inversion can help encourage lymphatic flow.

It’s one of the reasons therapeutic hammock work can feel so good in the body.

Starting at the beginning is where the real magic happens ✨

In this beginner aerial practice, you’re learning how to build strength, move with control, and develop confidence from the ground up.

No rushing.

No skipping steps.

Just a thoughtful foundation that supports everything that comes next.

This is where stronger, more confident movement begins.

It’s now inside the membership 🤍

There’s one thing I wish every yogi understood: mobility and flow often live in tiny, intentional movements, not in big, forced stretches.

These micro movements can completely change how your body feels, and the hammock makes them safe and accessible.

Some examples include:

• Gentle rocking or swaying side-to-side or forward-and-back to stimulate circulation without strain.

• Small hip or leg lifts and shifts while supported to encourage fluid movement from the lower body.

• Seated oscillations in a hammock to wake up the spine and torso.

• Integrating breath with each subtle motion, letting inhalation and exhalation guide the flow.

When you focus on these tiny adjustments, your body learns to recruit muscles efficiently, release tension, and move with more awareness. Movements that used to feel stiff or forced suddenly become smooth, effortless, and even enjoyable.

It’s amazing how something so small can create big, lasting changes in mobility, circulation, and overall flow.
